falling off in Knoxville.

It appears Hurd has gone public with plans to leave the program after the year. Reports state Hurd will remain with program through end of this season to support his teammates. Others are reporting Jones has him kicked off.

Some other players are reported being dismissed or have announce plans to transfer.

Things are getting ugly.

Some on here have more credible sources than I do. I'm simply passing what's on local sports radio.

Any reports from people in the know?

Theres a big thread about it here already. Sadly we don't have any solid info to go on other than one posting from VolNation from someone who claims to be related to Hurd.

It's the talk this morning on local sports radio in Nville. (Hurd is from Hville which is suburb of Nville.) Radio people are acknowledging a tumultuous mtg last night. Only question now will be how it plays out and how the "spin doctors" communicate it.

Everything will be smoothed over once the boosters get involved....

Boosters are good at running things through the "spin doctor." That's why they're boosters. Businesses and organizations do it all the time. Spin is usually truthful, but it's usually just one side of the truth ; - )

Really wish this happened one week later. By 11/12, they will have circled the wagons and will play out of their minds against us.

Still, I am confident that they don't want any part of us right now. Two teams going in different directions.

BR just popped up on my phone saying HURD is gone he is out transferring from Butch Jones himself. WOW they are crumbling!! Its time to win the east if we can get help from Ark and LSU!!! GO CATS!!

It's now official that Hurd is leaving. A lot can change between now and the UT game. Today UT would be favored by a touchdown or more. Game is in K'ville and UT is (was) a better team.

I'm guessing there's more turmoil that will come out over the next few days. UT just went through murderer's row (not including SC) of their schedule. Ga, Fla, Ala & Tx AM is not an easy 4 game stretch. UT considers the back half of their schedule to be the easy part. They may rally around Butch and circle the wagons and play up to their potential. (Stoops got his team to do this.) Or, they mail it in and try to get the season over with as soon as possible.

I just wish that UT had a legitimate opponent this week. They play Tennessee Tech and should smoke them. Then they will probably have their confidence back on board and ready to play us on the 12th. Of course, if we beat Georgia then we should be flying pretty high with confidence as well. So, this weekend could be pretty huge for us.

read on here a couple weeks ago that team meetings called by players never work. Hopefully ut doesn't get it figured out. And things implode down there like a Dooley situation

Team only meeting's can actually work quite effectively. When I was playing college ball we had a team only meeting following a frustrating 6 game back to back swept by the top two teams in the conference meeting. Basically the meeting was this is our team, and the head coach, f'em. Can't let him stand in our way.

We ended up winning the next 10 games and going to the World Series.

Tennessee will get Kamara back juuuuuuuuuuust in time for Kentucky .

Then they circle the wagons while being surrounded by a hundred and three thousand fans not so quietly DEMANDING a good performance if they want to stay in Knoxville overnight.
Gonna be a check of a hard game for the Cats to pull a rabbit out of the hat.

I think this yr. is definitely going to be in the top five chances UK has had to go to Knoxville and win since the last time we did it in 1984.
Am I guaranteeing a W? Nope, but I bet it's a one score game either way.

I know they can work. When we called one after the Florida or New Mexico State game posters were going nuts about them never working and means they fold for the season.
