I really think this is the year Stansbury gets it done with some tourney success...
you didn't even answer the question. the statement was assume we made the elite 8, then answer the question.
and like i said, i agree in terms of the texas, butler, duke, Memphis, etc. games. But Xavier was different. Anybody who follows NCAAB knows that. They weren't even on the radar going into the A-10 tournament, then they stormed through it like it was nothing and beat the #2 team in the country by 40 in the finals. Their hot play continued all the way through the tournament until Duke finally beat them. And, yes, coaching was the difference with Duke, but that's Coach K. Nobody is going to compare Stans and K. But Xavier wasn't just hot against us, they were freaking on fire for a three or four week stretch. I mean, the sons of bitches drained a 3/4 court shot at the 1st half buzzer. It was crazy.
That 2004 team was so good, that Stans really couldn't screw it up either, and he didn't. Xavier did. My question was would that sweet 16 or elite 8 appearance have changed your mind about him at all? the answer is probably "no", and that's fair, but at least it's ananswer. That seems to be your only measuring stick, so i was just curious. It wouldn't change one thing about his coaching ability, but that seems to be the only thing you are willing to measure him by.
