Anyone can throw together a highlight video to try to get you excited about an upcoming season. Stick a few good plays in a row with some dance/rock/whatever mix followed by "University X Polo, Insert Catch Phrase here". You see the same videos every year. The catch phrase may change. The highlights change to the most recent year's highlights. The music may change, but it's the same thing.
The point is to grab your attention with something different and entertaining in a different way.
Last year they did the Ole Miss Giants video series for a few sports where the players were walking around the campus as giants. It didn't show anything about the sport, but it was different and entertaining. This year, they obviously have the Monster theme.
It's good marketing, because it catches your attention. It's just a shame that our marketing department is doing the best job I have seen in my life, and it's coinciding with a time when the product they're trying to sell couldn't get much lower in value.
