I realize he's The Emperor up there.....and therefore has largely earned the brass he brings to the microphone......but I'd sure like him to be a less dramatic with some of his comments. I particularly got a kick out of his claim he's previously had no other opportunity (my word) to retire until now.

Regrettably, he's now become the stereotypical, self-important old fossil......

Syracuse is 35 miles from me and I'm surrounded by their fans...

I hear a daily dose of 'everybody does it' and 'Boeheim did nothing wrong'. Funny thing is 25 years ago, I was at Auburn when Pat Dye got caught paying players and the locals said 'everybody does it' and 'Dye did nothing wrong'.

I'd like to see Syracuse get caught again in a couple years and get the death penalty. F-em.

NCAA removed 108 wins from him. What a joke, in 3 years when he retires, the NCAA will reinstate all 108 wins. Just like they did for Penn State.

I think a sports talk show host got it right

I forget who it was, but he was a former coach.

He said academic eligibility should be taken out of control of the coaches. Don't even let them hire or pick the compliance officers. Make the school responsible for making sure players are eligible under NCAA rules. After all, it's academic requirements and that's what colleges are supposed to be about.

There are so many NCAA rules that it takes a lawyer to read and understand them all. Even the NCAA makes different interpretations of the same rules itself.

Do you think Bob Huggins knows personally if any of his players or coaches or assistants or interns have violated any NCAA rule in the past month? It's a morass.

Plus, people who live in glass houses . . .

I am convinced God exists every time I think that Jock Itch left WVU and we got John Beilein. Talk about a key moment in WVU sports history, and what COULD have happened.

Not sure what that has to do with Boeheim (which I think you misread the name in my OP).......but since you brought him up, no matter how much/often some folks around here try and convince me how much I should hate John Beilein (or his wife), I simply can't forget the level of the turnaround he delivered to our (at the time) splendidly-average Program.

No one would be eligible if that was the case.
