Yeah, I mean you bring up some good points, but I refuse to believe that Kentucky can't win in football, especially when I look at North Carolina, Duke, Louisville, Oregon, Michigan State, etc, etc, etc. I think Kentucky has a lot more potential than a lot of people want to recognize. All of these reasons we've heard over the years about why Kentucky can't win in football continue to be debunked. "Well we're a basketball school, we can't win". Debunked. "Well a school from the state of Kentucky can't win because there's no recruiting base." Debunked. "Only schools with tradition can be consistent winners". Debunked. I'm never expecting us to be Alabama, but there's no reason we can't be a top-25 caliber program. That's not asking too much. We have so many more advantages than our own fans even realize. We have the fanbase, the facilities, the money, the conference affiliation, the main thing we lack at this point is an athletics director with the vision to make a creative coaching hire. All things being equal this program is more attractive than schools like Duke, North Carolina and Louisville, yet the one thing that they have that we don't is an AD that can make a good coaching hire. We've been convinced that this program should just be happy with the scraps when the truth is that this program has a hell of a lot more to offer than most of our fans even realize. There's zero reason this isn't a program that could be a top-25 caliber team on a yearly basis with the right AD that's capable of hiring the right coach.
