can we play them in the Liberty Bowl?At one time, Larry Simpleton made sure that there was fine print in the contract between theSEC and The Liberty Bowlthat would never allow for us and USM to play.

I did not know if that were still the case, but nothing involving that sorry jackass surprises me!!!

Matt Wyatt clarified it on H2H the other day. There is a rule, but only IF there is another bowl option that the SEC team can be placed. Since it's highly unlikely that the SEC will have enough bids to even fill the B'ham bowl slot, then there would be no other option for MSU. Besides, would you really want to duck USM in the Liberty for a ****** bowl game at Legion Field?

Championship game. USM is defintely the 2nd best team in their league, but Case Keenum is absolutely playing lights out. I think Houston beats USM by a couple of TDs to go to Memphis for the Liberty Bowl

since he tried to destroy our baseball program by bringing Ron Polk back and trying to get rid of the LFL, but anyway....

Alabama was actually the one that wanted that clause. And it was so that they wouldn't have to play UAB.

If we have to play USM in the Liberty Bowl, I am 100% sure that we would play them and be OK with it one way or the other. Especially since we are playing them in a couple of years.

I do think that Houston will beat them in the C-USA championship game, but I have to wonder if the Cougars are going to end up in a BCS bowl if they run the table. They were 19th in the BCS standings as of last week. I can't imagine that they would move down.

They play SMU and Tulsa to close their season out. Those are probably the 2 teams that have the best shot at beating them in the regular season. If SMU beats them, more than likely they will go to C-USA championship. I don't think Tulsa will remain unbeaten in conference even if they happen to beat Houston. My gut's telling me that Houston is going to win the conference though, but we'll have to see.

The Liberty and Music City bowls share the #7/#8 bids (really #8/#9 since the SEC will almost always get 2 teams in the BCS). If an SEC team in line for one of those bowls and the CUSA champ are from the same state, the SEC team would go to the Music City.</p>
