I was thinking 5-7 after Southern Miss. I figured it would be a challenge to win the 4 swing games of Vandy, MSU, SC and Missouri, although 3 of the 4 were at home. The Missouri game was the real question mark but by this week with all their injuries and issues and our improvement I expected and predicted a win.

I think we can beat UGA next week, and why I can argue the 5 SEC wins would be against the SEC teams ranked 10-14 (just being real here, no disrespect meant to us and I will cherish all 5 wins!), it would be very impressive to go 5-3 in the SEC this season. Sucks we lost to USM, as it may have cost us an 8-4 type season but that is in the past, can only look ahead.

That's one way to look at it. I would say you guys were right and helped provide some much needed motivation for changes to be made. They are coaching and playing better because of you!!!

I have to say I was very hard on Stephen Johnson but it seems I was wrong to do so. This team is ENERGIZED and ready to do something special! I'm beyond excited about how our Cats are kicking *** rn!!!!

I'm enjoying the run and ready to have a reason to act age inappropriate at a bowl destination.

I am pleased with what looks like a more disciplined product. I'm not 100% convinced he is doing miracle work and any better of a coach than what we've seen previously.

My issue with Stoops has always been lack of in game adjustments. We have seen that improve. Hats off to him

I'll admit it. I was calling for Stoops head after weak 1. Even after the last couple years I didn't think he was the man for the job. Still not sold completely but he's done way better this year than in the past. Gran deserves tons of credit too. I hope Stoops succeeds here. He's gotta stay on the defensive side of the ball and let his experienced coordinator handle the O and I think he'll be fine. But from top to bottom, HC on down to the towel boys enoughcant be said about how they circled the wagons after the first two beat downs and lost their starting QB to come back swinging. I love the toughness and will to win this team has.

Anyone who said they believed is lying. I will gladly eat crow. I didn't think Stoops was the answer. I was wrong but I do believe that Elliot needs to be replaced.

Don't be so quick to lump all fans into the non-believer category. New staff members, lots of turnaround. There was a lot of reason to believe this team would come out of it. I refused to believe this team would mail it in so quickly after coming so close the last few seasons.

I have never called for his firing, but I had totally lost faith. I thought he had lost the team after UF.
It isn't even that we are winning. It is that we are competing. We are imposing our will - offensive line has been ridiculous.
If we could flip the script on turnovers there is not a team left on the schedule that we can't beat.

Stoops has officially won me over completely. I had my doubts but he proved me wrong. Taking over the defense turned this ship around and that was a tough and gritty decision. Kudos to stoops. He earned that extension now!!!!!

I was wrong. There were obvious problems after USM but Stoops taking over the defense, along with this o-line and running attack with Snell makes us a very dangerous team going forward. All the recruiting is paying huge dividends!

I am ELATED that Coach Stoops has proven me wrong from where I was after the S. Miss game. He has grown as an HC by leaps and bounds from game 1 forward.

Now let's ALL get behind OUR program and come out in BIG numbers next Saturday night to make a run at something we haven't done in 40 years!!!

I have said many times. If you are going to criticize, you have to be prepared to give credit when it is due. Stoops, the coaching staff and the players deserve a tremendous amount of credit for this turnaround. I'm super excited about next week's game. Damn, winning football feels good.

I'll admit you were wrong.

You really are one to be talking. Remember all of these quotes:

I have to admit I've lost all hope.

Think about this UL and WKU are now clearly better now

Boycott this program and Mitch

Petrino will do everything he can to run up the score against us as much as possible. There will be no mercy

Sad thing is, by year 4, Stoops was supposed to have us in a condition where we don't get laughed off the field.

Why does Stoops not understand that our tackles cannot block on the O-Line?

We thought Stoops in year 4 had LEARNED something by now as a Head Coach. We thought maybe he had LEARNED how to win and crush an opponent when they're down. But no, he's obviously clueless and ran off Neal Brown, Dawson, Towles, Reese Phillips and others...

We thought Stoops MIGHT BE the savior of UK football with the improved recruiting, facilities, etc., But he is Fool's Gold.

If we're 0-2 after Florida, Stoops is done. He made A LOT of money on his stop here though....

You gotta hand it to Stoops, he conned Mitch into believing the dream and now he's a multi millionaire for life no matter if he gets fired.

Don't spend another penny on UK football until a real head coach is hired. There IS a real head coach that would take this job because of our new facilities as a selling point.

I don't think any UK fan should spend another red cent on UK football until a real head coach is hired.

Mitch has almost destroyed UK football with his hires of Joker and Stoops.

The D-Line literally can't even get lined up on time.... This is worse than Joker.

At this point, if you allow this coaching staff to remain by attending games and spending money on UK football, you're part of the problem.

I'm sorry, but it's Mitch, Stoops, and most of our players. Fold the whole program. I'm not cheering for these players who don't even try.

What a joke you are.

Stoops has done a great job with this team. He's not beating great teams but the program is moving in the right direction and next year has a chance to make some serious noise. Of course there will probably be some genius chime in and say this is fools gold. Any year UK football wins 6 or more games is a huge achievement and I don't care who they beat.

We needed that loss to Southern Miss, solid play against Bama, emergence of Snell, and a hell of a kick. I don't think a Stoops team will look back now. They've got some serious fight to them. They're tough, they're mean, and most importantly, they shook the "loser syndrome".

I was wrong. I had expected Ted this type of play last season, and after the first games thought this MAY be a three win team.
Glad to be so stupid.

This is the team everyone expected to see at the beginning of the season. Stoops gets all the credit for the turnaround but has to take the blame for the shitshow the first three games.

No one was unreasonable for doubting him then, being really excited now, and not being overly pessimistic or optimistic about the future of our program.

I'll admit I was wrong as well. Beginning the season, I was hoping for 5-6 wins. After the first three games, I thought we'd be lucky to win 3. At the time, I thought we were destined to be a cellar dweller in the east. While I still think six wins may be our ceiling this year, we're much improved since the UF game.
