1. I know not many people had heard of him when we signed him, but Devin Desper is a very good OL. Glad we were the first to realize just how good he is.

2. MC FB Hugh Warren may only be 17, but he is a man. 23 carries for 175 yards all right up the middle (behind Desper). If you can't stop the FB dive, you're going to have a long night trying to stop the option. NWR had a very long night last night.

3. I'm not sure how they did it, but after losing something like 18 starters, plus losing a bunch of underclassmen to the new Germantown HS, somehow MC is better this year than they were last year. This may be their best team since the 1999 state championship team.

4. Pete Hurst must be an idiot. He's got Jacori Trigg who is a 6'3" 180lb WR with good speed and good hands who just killed MC in the game in Madison last year and he doesn't even touch the ball until the middle of the 3rd quarter? That's a waste.

5. I was a little surprised that NWR DE Will Freeman is only getting looks from Sunbelt schools. He's got great size and a knack for making the big play (although he didn't do much last night).

6. Apparently, punching players doesn't get you kicked out of HS football games. Because there were about 3 NWR players that should have been ejected. And it's not like the refs didn't see it because they did call personal fouls on them. I was susprised, but when NWR got frustrated at the end, they got dirty.

lineman. GermanTown had zero impact on the line of scrimmage for Madison Central and after watching last night I would say this is the strength of their team on offense and defense. I even think the white defensive linemen look pretty damn good. I look for Madison Central to make a deep run, they are playing as a team which hasn't happened in a while. I still hate Bobby Hall. <div>
</div><div>I expect Germantown to be very good in a couple of years. Their 8th grade team destroyed everyone they played.</div>

SP is still a pretty good team, but they're nowhere near as good as they usually are. I've seen both teams play and MC is the better team. They will win that game and have a rematch with Olive Branch for the north state title.</p>

That Freeman dude has size but he is just not that good. Match him up with a mediocre tackle that he can get by and a QB that stands like a statue and sure he is going to make the sack.

I watched him fairly closely in their game against Callaway to start the year. When they blocked him, he couldn't get loose and was a non factor. Several times he'd be unblocked and would be at the edge waiting for the RB coming at him and completely whiff.

I'm no talent scout but from what I've seen of him, I think Sun Belt football is perfect for him.

fullback dive & trap, Hurt who has coached a bunch of places still does not know how to defend. The secondary played a cover 2 all game when MC completed one pass.

NWR had about 6 runplays, and on the pass plays 90% were single receiver options, a huge waste of talent.

look for them to lose at Murrah..

David Coates would have won this game going away!!!
