Don't worry, we are going to roll you guys. 45 points. Mark it down.I think putting way too much stock in the offense improving. With no proven QB and first year in a new system I don't see going from averaging 17.4 points per game jumping to 26.2 points per game. Just to put that in perspective Rutgers scored more than 26 points once last season but he expect them to average that many points. Ciarrocca is not know for explosive offenses that you would expect that massive jump in scoring.
I think our D will be better then last year ( especially at LB) which will help our offenseI think putting way too much stock in the offense improving. Gavin or Evan will have much more CHANCE of success with Kirk designing plays around their strengths .
Who is talking magical plays? Not me. Simple football if my QB can’t throw from the pocket but is better with a moving pocket…….he moves. You don’t sit in the pocket and wait to throw it deep. One of the most over used cliché in football. It right up with we worked harder this year then ever. There not a single coach who doesn't do the same thing. It the eternal hope that changing coaches will magically fix things. I heard the same thing when Kirk came to Penn State but it was a disaster. Maybe it would have turned around in a few years but there not magical plays that can be designed for players who lack the ability to execute at a high level.
Simply not having a kid whose strength is running play QB when he won’t (can’t, isn’t allowed to?) run would probably be worth a TD a game. We were incredibly easy to play in the second half of the year.I think putting way too much stock in the offense improving.
