Is 2017 a bowl or bust year for Stoops?

The schedule sets up pretty well for the Cats to finally make a bowl in 2017.

Most of our toughest games are in the friendly confines of Commonwealth Stadium. Florida, Missouri, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Louisville.

The road games are manageable at Southern Miss, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, and Georgia.

I see us being 4-1 going into that home game with Missouri. Beat the Tigers, and hopefully knock off a Vanderbilt who may have a new coach, and the Cats will break the bowl drought.

Still a lot of football left to play this year. With this team theres no telling where we'll be at seasons end. They could fold and go 3-9, or with the talent we have platibg to its full potential go 9-3. All of thst will dictates who returns next season. The schedule has se up favorably a few years in a row now, hence the frustration with fans.

Actually since Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, and Louisville are automatic losses every year playing them at home hurts since UK can't beat them anywhere including home. The more beatable teams are the ones we want at home. This year's schedule is actually more manageable then next year and I don't see UK going to a bowl for the foreseeable future.

Always love when the " plenty of season left" posters transition over to "next year is gonna be the year" type poster. It's like a pathetic rite of pumper passage that occurs each fall.

Assuming our current HC gets to the minimum acceptable performance in year four (6 wins plus a bowl appearance this year) and is able to stay on as HC......then "Yes" I would say a bowl is a must for next year as well--as a minimum. We should probably tack on another win in the 2017 requirement (7 wins--either regular season or with 6 plus a bowl victory).

did somebody in this post say we have the potential to go 9-3 ? no way i read the correctly. Have you watched a football game this year ? have you seen louisville ? we play them on the road we will be a 30 point underdog. This is without a doubt the dumbest statement i have seen in the history of these boards

Exactly...you want the winnable games at home...who cares where we play UT, UF...it is winning the Mizzou, Miss St, Vandy and USC games dictate how the season is going to pan out.

LOL no.......... people will make more excuses for Stoops and Barnhart like they always do. all it takes to make people happy at UK is 4-5 wins and some small signs of improvement from the start to finish of a season.
