I can still remember the tunes they played if you won or lost.Bring back video poker.
I dunno man. Next thing you know we'll be allowed to buy liquor on Sundays. Is it time to open the door for legalize gambling?
I remember being on jury duty back when poker machines were legal and the "got hooked poker machines" defense was the most common ploy of defense attorneys the week I served. True or not in those cases, society was only enhanced by banning poker machines.Bring back video poker.
So the only legal casinos in SC are based on ships? https://www.casinos.us/south-carolina/#map
I thought sure there must be an Indian casino in the state. Like in the Catawba area.
Interesting. The tribe claimed the territory extended, conveniently, just accross the NC state line, magically.
They are building the permament building now for the Two Kings Casino in Kings Mountain NC.
Its been operating out of trailers for a couple of years now.
I didn't vote in the poll becaue I no longer live in S.C., but I remember when you couldn't go into a C-store without a corner of the place devoted to video gaming. It was a blight on the state and I was glad to see it go away.I remember being on jury duty back when poker machines were legal and the "got hooked poker machines" defense was the most common ploy of defense attorneys the week I served. Very valid point. All the lights and jingling sounds in public places make it beguiling to young people who shouldn't even be thinking about gambling for money.I didn't vote in the poll because I no longer live in S.C., but I remember when you couldn't go into a C-store without a corner of the place devoted to video gaming. Gambling is fine for those who want to participate. It needs to be in places that are for that purpose only, not co-mingled in public spaces that otherwise aren't suitable for it.
And some people place bets online now and supposedly not able to do it in SC.We have legalized gambling. It’s called the education lottery![]()
I used to play the pinball games (no flippers) back in the 70's that paid off. Remember those?Bring back video poker.

There is currently legal gambling on boats in SC.If they legalize gambling, it should be restricted to casinos or buildings that are only used for gambling. When video poker was legal, having to negotiate the machines in every convenience store with losers perched on stools for hours at a time was aggravating as hell.
Those people were too stupid to realize the owner of the machine could set the payout at whatever they wanted. They set the payouts high to start with to convince the morons they had figured out how to win and then they set them to pay out 75-80%. Video poker was free money for store owners.

The smart phone is the new "boob tube."I would rather just use my phone.
It's more like a full blown computer that fits in my pocket. The smart phone is the new "boob tube."
I would like to have the option for occasional sports betting on my phone.I would rather just use my phone.
Those people are going to do that anyway. Where they do it really doesn't matter. Why? So people can lose everything they’ve got in the blink of an eye?
Sure makes it a lot easier. Those people are going to do that anyway. Where they do it really doesn't matter.
It's not underground in any way now. The internet has made gambling available to everyone, no matter what your state laws are.Honestly, I don’t see why not. It’s 2025, people are gonna gamble whether it’s legal or not. Might as well make it safe, regulated, and let the state actually benefit from it instead of pushing it underground.

You mean Atlantic City, SCYes! at Myrtle Beach. Vegas at the Ocean. We'd pay no income tax, and our roads would be newly paved.
