I was hoping for Thursday especially with school not in until the following Monday. No Havelock at Dillon.

The powers that be over the Butler v Hough game should look at a move to Thursday. Think MC at DF is going to take a lot of the focus Friday night. Just a thought.

Nepsy7 that is a poor excuse for Mallard Creek fans, We's R's flying in from another state and some fans from others schools R's driving up too 4 hours away for D's game. POOR POOR POOR fan base.

I wonder what kind of crowd MC will be able to bring from Charlotte with the 6pm start?
THE HEADER
Unless youre working at McDonalds, Holding a STOP SIGN at a construction joint, going inside the Hot Rump Shacking club with the "im cool with sunglasses inside" attitude and youre tired the next day, or spending all your money on a marijuana blunt then I understand......but

HERE ARE THE ONES THAT WILL SHOW UP
The ones that support the program
The ones that have been following this and really wants to be there
The ones that have known it is at 6pm, graduated with a 2.0 GPA and knows how to plan it around work
The ones that may have bald tires but will load up in a Bently like a Pack of Sardines
The ones that have had more than enough time to come up with a conclusion and dont ask the "WHY 6pm" questions
The ones that stop dreaming about having it their way. This is not Burger King

Thats the kind of crowd that will be at Dutch Championship Stadium on August 23, 2019 at 6pm. Not BUTS, no IFS, no Complaining

IN CONCLUSION
Just show up, shut your mouth and leave the "im cool with sunglasses inside" attitude in your Bentley.

Thats the mentality supporters should have. Other than that....Make sure you have a DirectTV account or raise those antennas on the rooftops

Actually a good fan base. Huge turn out for both Dillon & Scotland County games. New AD & no Principal at the present. Will most likely put a damper on the behind the scenes things needed to provide transportation for the game. I could be wrong, but they'll be more fans of the game, than MC fans.

You guys need to take that "im too cool with sunglasses inside" attitude and come with an open mind, open heart, and capitalize on the big picture

You'll done lost your mind with that 6pm gig

This game was listed by ESPN on July 10th as being their first game of the year in a doubleheader Friday season opener. Second game is De LaSalle v St Thomas Aquinas (DLS v STA)!

The biggest farce is the fact that this game could have been at Bank of America Stadium BUT Coach Knotts didn't want to risk that happening.

Knotts said Bank of America is so big, too overwhelming, and too much of a hassle. He also said Mallard Creek will enjoy Dutch's stadium because it will be a full house.

Columbia is like Charlotte, it’s notoriously bad for traffic and people being late.

“Risk?” If the financial guarantee was there he would have did it. Even if the stadium is provided rent free the requirements to man the event are cost prohibitive with the size gate that is expected. Ask teams that played in the playoffs against CMS teams at Memorial. They shook their head when they saw the expenses line item on the NCHSAA playoff payout sheet.

There was also concern about the NCHSAA making an exception on their no live tv telecasts on Fridays if the game were played in NC.

So what’s the “farce” you are alluding to?

Regardless of finances, who wants to put less than 10,000 in a 74,000 seat stadium? That would look great on national tv. ESPN liked the logistics for televising but was against the empty stadium aspect. No thanks! I would have loved it to have been at UNCC!!!

You may have to drive to Dutch Fork but you will not fight Friday parking before 5pm downtown (yes, old school QC).

Also! ESPN was not doing the game if held at BOA Stadium. Makes a lot of sense. 74,000 seat stadium with 10,000 attending, would not be a good look.

Would have been a terrible venue. Glad it never happened. Dutch Fork is just fine..Early start time sucks for Creek fans but in the end it's not gonna change the game.

“Couple of months ago?” Is “just approved” July 10th? The 6pm time was set per ESPN’s requirement.

What person at ESPN did you speak with?
Now I might lose my Security Clearance If I were to call a name out..
