I don't understand why more people aren't excited about the Miss. State win. I know their record was 2-4, but in years past, we would have lost when we fell behind with 1:09 left in the game. I, like a lot of you, was disappointed with Coach Stoops in the first couple of games this year, and definitely in the past two years. I felt the game was moving to fast for him. Has he caught up, I don't think completely, but he's a lot better. I don't think the final score was indicative of the game. If you look at the stats, we out played them more then the score.
I know the SEC East is weak this year, but in the past we would have been losing, regardless of the strength of the SEC East. I can see us improving in all aspects, especially recruiting. We just got a 4 star QB to commit, who was committed to Ohio State, and to me, that is big. We have two really good running backs, who may be back next year.
We will return 18 or 19 starters next year, so we should be able to redshirt more players. For the first time in a long time, I see a "Ray of Sunshine" in our program, and the glass is half-full.

Agreed on all points. If we wouldn't have fallen apart early on we'd be 5-2 and all but guaranteed to make a bowl. Excited for our chances at Missouri. Hope we can keep moving forward.

The win was huge last night and really don't think there is a true UK fan who is/was not excited with the win. Had Johnson not fumbled and we take the 17 point lead the grumblings post game are never heard. We took a game that I felt we dominated and was in a position to lose. Kudos to the team though for pulling out the W. Hopefully they take this confidence to Missouri and get it done there too. Our first two trips to Columbia since they have joined the SEC have not been good, in fact, really poor football both times. UK plays to their potential I think they could win comfortably there but we will see.

I think the biggest key all season has been defense after offensive hiccups.

When the offense turns the ball over, the defense does not seem to have the same focus and success as other possessions where we simply go three and out, have a few 1st downs or start of quarters.

To the OP, I completely agree with the things you said.. In years past we falter and everything else becomes a domino effect. IN fact, in years past we give up the TD to Vandy lose to them and this game is probably not even close

I'm never going to hate on a conference win, I'm proud of what this staff and team have done and don't believe they're done yet.

Think about what happens the past two games if we cleaned up our mistakes. We are looking at likely 31-6 and 41-24 conference wins. It's been a long time since we've been in position to beat teams in that manner. I like that we are learning to win close games but hope that we start putting teams away when they give us the opportunity.

The character and fight in these guys are quickly making this one of my favorite UK teams.
