Wondering who the mystery candidate is. My guess is Buzz Williams.

I am guessing Brownell said no at this point and they are in desperation mode.

I’d assume Kelsey was reached out to if they paid a 6+ million buyout to Devries so this is great news.

I fully believe the search went bad after Dusty and Brownell said no, and I’m shocked it’s not McCollum, but he may prefer another job.

Fire a guy for missing the Tourney and hire a guy that missed the Tourney. Claim you are a blue blood top 10 program all you want but haven't done anything in over 20 years and the last good coach you had you don't want to talk about. Shout out to Mike Davis and his National Runner up. Tom Crean gave out rings for a sweet sixteen with 2 lottery picks after cutting down nets after a loss with 80 fans watching. We are watching a joke. Their best accomplishment in the past 20 years was publishing a book that cost Louisville a banner and set the program back into the dark ages for 10 years. No sympathy for the state of their program.

Brownell lost to Kenny Payne. I would not hire him. I don't care about their little run last year or their wins over UK & Duke this year. He lost to Kenny Payne. That's it.

I agree with every word. IU was behind the whole Katina Powell thing. They were not going to lose Romeo Langford to Louisville at any cost.

So it's not Brad Stevens. This guy could do well but it's a reminder nobody is making big name hires anymore. He has 0 NCAAT wins to his resume, matching the NCAAT win total of the guy UK and UofL hired.

This has the UC football coach hiring thing all over it...preferring a coach from a "power conference" because of who they are about to become (UC on B12) or used to be 20 years ago (IU).

That said, I am in NO way comparing this guy to Satterfield, because he only had 1 season at WVU so far. The jury is out still.

Yes. The days of a UNC hiring the coach from Kansas are long gone. With portal and NIL, college rosters are less stable than NBA ones. Crazy. Because of this instability, blue bloods with elite coaches will have bad years here & there and the answer will not be FARR THAT SONOFABEYITCH! when this happens.
