Joe Lunardi has Louisville and sUcK both playing in the South Region. First game Louisville would play Arkansas and sUcK would play Chattanooga. The winner of those 2 games would play each other in the 2nd round. Also in that region would be Memphis and Michigan State. Once again sos and all the algorithm has nothing to do with the selections. It is obviously based on attracting viewers. However we will hear the Ad’s and University Presidents use the usual talking points blah, blah, blah.

I said a few weeks ago that I expected that we would be seeded against either UK or St John’s; I think the Committee will prefer the match up against Pitino more than UK.

St. John’s will be in play also if you have a history with a team you are probably going to be matched up against that team. Nothing else has anything to do with pairing these teams other than that.

It’s funny Lunardi has moved us up from a 7 seed to a 6 seed but he still has us playing sUcK in the 2nd round.
I realize it is bordering on paranoia on my part, but Lunardi ALWAYS seems to have us paired up with UK in some way. Now add CRP and The Squid to the mix. A smorgasbord of intriguing situations for him to fantasize about.

First hope we play them in the 2nd round. Butler won't go 10-10 for 30+points again. But oh wait they lost again today and we won. Nothing further your honor!

Butler and another guard have been out with injury. I watched part of the game and thought they put up a good effort over what I perceive to be an undisciplined Bama team. Bama's defense is so porous that it is hard for me to gauge UK.

Several of the teams ranked just ahead of us lost last night and earlier in the week. We could go up as high as 19th in this next AP poll, as we will most assuredly eclipse #21 UK in the Coaches Poll.

I want to avoid being too optimistic on our finishing the regular season, but if we win out prior to the start of the ACC Tournament; it is quite likely we will be inside the top 20 in both polls and would conceivably improve our seeding to a 5. If that happens, it eliminates our likelihood of being matched up against UK or St John.

ACC is terrible, it is hard to predict how they would do outside the conference. I think they will really struggle against FSU type teams that have really good athletes in a good system. Those teams can generate fouls and that is the one thing that could derail a game.

On the flip side they get teams that run a bunch of offensive sets Louisville will crave them up. This group is really good at absorbing game plans.

Seeding doesn’t matter at this point. It is all about matchups.

Playing these weak teams in the ACC is a worry to me. Don't get me wrong we play hardnose defense, run great sets on offense and I love this team. I hope we stay healthy and if we do we can give anyone a fight. but I really struggle to predict how we will do in the tournament. As Cycle said it really is all about the team we are matched up with. The one thing I am certain about, we won't go down without playing hard, smart and being well coached. That in itself is a huge victory for me. The atmosphere in the Yum yesterday was absolutely off the charts. We are back and will be a hard out for anyone we face. GO CARDS!
