He is a prime example of a kid who was never told "NO" by his parents or coaches growing up and won't change until he hits rock bottom, if he survives it. He was a loose cannon in college and it was covered up for the most part, at least the best they could, but he was so talented he overcame the complete lack of talent. Now he is trying to play where everyone is as talented as he is and to be successful it takes work, but instead he tucked tail and ran.

Yep because you know so much about addiction. It's fine to have an opinion but you know jack squat about addiction or my choices.

Look I have a son who is a heroin addict, one that is an alcoholic and and a wife is is addicted to cigarettes, but I don't consider any of then as having a disease. They all are where they are because they "chose" to start doing what they do and none of them would be where they are today if not for the choices they made using their free agency that God gives us. I preached to my kids their whole lives about these vises and 3 of them listened and 2 didn't. I feel sorry for them because substances now control their lives and not themselves, but I don't consider any of them as diseases...listen to an old George Jones song titled Choices.

I know quite a bit about addiction actually. I also know that you have to make a choice to use drugs or alcohol. I also know that personal responsibility is dead in this country and everybody looks for a cop out. If you are an addict, nobody or anything made you one, but you. Johnny Manziel is making a choice to be how he is.

Looked like a pic of a young guy with liquor being poured into his mouth. Seems like a college age kid who parties to me, albeit one who's throwing away a gift to do it.

The good news is, when he's a bag boy at Kroger he will have a lot less money to feed his addiction. He set the college football world on fire but crashed and burned in the NFL. I pray he turns his life around, but the odds are not in his favor

An exhaustive review of Wildcat Lair literature confirms it is an addiction secondary to having never been told no as a child.

My reading comprehension sucks. Thought you meant influenza. However, on the Lair they probably are synonymous so I stand by my reply.

What a sick little boy, I don't see how he ever followed any rules anywhere, next stop death or the pen. The press needs to stop giving him attention, all he does is piss people off, can't believe somebody hasn't beat him half to death by now.

Although I still don't think what he has its a"disease" and having a child like him--without the money--my heart bleeds for his family and even for him. Unless you have experienced this you just wouldn't understand...always fearing you will get the"call"

Agree, in a lot of cases the family suffers more than the sick person. What a shame.

I'm not sure of the thread title though, when did he ever quit?
