Jordan Spieth's odds in the British Open just improved. McIlroy injured.

Rory was playing soccer with friends over the weekend and ruptured an ankle ligament. I don't think that's as bad as it sounds. It means it's a 3rd degree ankle sprain. It's not like a ruptured achilles or anything that severe. But he is the defending open champion. A spokesman for him says he might be 10% to play.

The Open this year is on the Old Course at St. Andrew's.

Ouch, a 3rd degree ankle sprain will keep McIroy off the course for a good bit. Hopefully he'll be back soon.

But, I gotta admit, even though Spieth is a horn, I really like the way he plays the game. He is quietly confident in his ability and seems cool as ice under pressure. And comes across as a very down-to-earth and humble guy in the handful of interviews I've seen.

There was a quote on one of those NFLNetwork Top 10 show. Top 10 Divas I think it was.they were talking about some guy with the quote ... It is not hard to pull against him....... Looked it up. It was actually the 30 for 30 about hating Christian Laettner. Not hard to pull against Laettner.

Spieth is the opposite of that. He is a Longhorn that it is not hard to pull for.

The only other one I can think of is Earl.

In another thread several suggested Colt McCoy. But all I have to do is remember his incessant flopping to draw unmerited 15 yard penalties. Cannot pull for a guy like that.
