That is awesome, if Love stays healthy. If not ...

It is not as if Stoops and his staff know that every game is going down to the wire before they make Kash second string. If a kid not a QB or center breaks into the 2 deep, he should play.

I think that the injury card is probably one of the best reasons as to why he wasn't redshirted. We only really have 3 guys that are slated to be MLBs. Love, Daniel, and Firios. That is not a whole lot of bodies. So, I can understand him getting experience on ST in case he is needed to be called upon when there is one or more injuries on defense. I suppose in a perfect world we could redshirt him. I just hope that he doesn't get stuck playing ST for 2 years rather than being able to contribute some significant minutes in 2017.

I wonder how good this defense would be with Tubman and Hatcher. You would figure both would have made significant contributions this year.

Don't know about Tubman since we never saw him play but Hatcher was a major disappointment. Can't imagine his being able to beat out Ware and/or Allen.

You were on the game thread talking about why they should pull Hoaks redshirt because he might be better than Johnson, and now you're taking a guy who is contributing and saying we should have redshirted him?

Won't we see him in a few weeks since he (Tubman) plays for Austin Peay? Surely he is tearing it up there. Many on here said he was an NFL caliber stud. If he is/was so great, I guess we'll have our hands full Nov. 19th.

Plus you have got to take into account that Firios is coming of a season ending injury last year. So they didn't really have much of a choice whether or not they were going to RS Kash, because they needed some more depth at the position.

Tubman's season stats: 6 games, 22 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, 5 QB hurries, 1 forced fumble. Team is 0-7.

Looks pretty good for a kid who has not played in a while and is in his first year on the field.

Considering Firios injury imo special team was right move by staff. Another imo, Firios will HIT!
Kash Daniels will become a star linebacker for THE CATS. He's learning, and another right special team move by the staff. Kash is #56 watch him on special teams always around the ball carrier and usually delivers a big lick!
I am also discouraged in the speed and inconsistent play of Love and would not be surprised if Kash minutes other than special team increase.

A year spent playing on special teams is not "a year being wasted." Special teams are important. Special teams often make a huge difference. A freshman year as a special teams first stringer is a successful one, not a season to be sneered at.

This! Some years we have been awful on special teams and have had awful field position and given the other team great field position. ST is very, very important. I am really happy with ST play this season to date

Kash is a true freshman and plays special teams, which is pretty good. He will improve and it remains to be seen what his eventual impact might be. He will get ample opportunities down the road, no doubt. I've not seen enough quality things from him to be confident that he will be an SEC-level performer, but he is still learning.
