Crazy thought....if we take care of business next week against Mizzou, and find a way to take out a mediocre UGA team at CWS......we will likely be playing for a berth in the SEC championship game against UT in Knoxville.
It's happened five times since I was born in 1984...If we could beat either Mizzou or UGA, just getting to 4-4 in the SEC would be incredible. I'm pretty sure we've only accomplished that once since the 70s (2006)
thisNo we are not a great team but we have some great talent and we are showing heart.
It ain't pretty, but it is winning.....and in the end winning is all that matters. If we beat Mizzou (no easy task to win on the road in the SEC against ANYONE).....this season has the chance to be special. With a UM win (and an almost certain A/Peay victory) we're bowling, and the UGA game could be within reach also. I've been critical of CMS (more so re: the AD), but hats off to the HC, staff and team (I hope I don't jinx them). All that having been said--we're not a great football team. The SEC east + Miss St is as bad as it's ever been in my lifetime. I would LOVE to have one of those decent Brooks teams this season.
Stop justifying the victories by downplaying the opponents. Yes they are down, but we are beating them so as of this week we can't say we are cellar dwellers. We have to be able to beat these teams before we can think of beating the upper echelon teams. All that having been said--we're not a great football team. The SEC east + Miss St is as bad as it's ever been in my lifetime. I would LOVE to have one of those decent Brooks teams this season.
