With just two league games remaining, Kentucky is in tremendous position to win its first ever SEC East title. The Cats need some help, but the Gators remaining schedule is extremely difficult. It's nice to be talking bowl possibilities and SEC races instead of coaching changes and empty stadiums!

*So the Cats just dominated Missouri on the road. Let that sink in! I guess this is where some will say UK beat a sorry team on the road. Probably the same people that picked MU to win or UK in a close one. You can't please everyone I guess . And don't forget, Missouri was damn near a touchdown favorite!!!!!

*The defense. Very nice! The UK "D" allowed 14 points (I'm not gonna count the one yard drive after the PR) and under 400 yards of total offense. UK's front seven continues to play well. There was a lot of hand wringing this week about the MU offense. Stoops and company were prepared and did a tremendous job.

*The OL. They absolutely mutilated Missouri's defensive front. Missouri had one of the worst rush defenses in the nation, and UK put up well over 100 MORE yards than the Tigers typically allow on the ground! Just a dominant performance by UK's big uglies!

*The Snell/Williams duo was on fire today. Snell goes for 192. Boom for 182, and on HALF the carries that Snell got. Has UK ever had a game when TWO backs went for over 180 yards?

*UK was able to get Badet, Baker, and Johnson 3 or more catches each. Those guys will be needed as the season rolls on. UK still needs to get Conrad involved more often.

*I thought S. Johnson played a very solid 1st half (minus the late pick of course). Plenty of positive in the passing game from the first half to build on.

*This is a game UK probably should have won by 35. They were dominant. The turnovers, missed field goal, and punt return cost UK a bunch of points. Hence, there's plenty of room for improvement.

*For the 2nd straight week, UK out-gained a league opponent by nearly 200 yards. That hasn't happened in a LONG time!

*Up next, the biggest home game of the Stoops era. UK might very well be playing for a shot to head to Knoxville with the SEC East title on the line. How unbelievable is that? It should be an exciting week around Lexington, and not just because the tank tops are playing !!!

GBB!!!

Aren't you getting ahead of yourself? Florida only has one loss and we have 2. Are you assuming a Georgia win?

It's not a tie, Erik...it's a half game lead. Georgia wins, Cats all alone in first. :scream:

I missed the game. Does anyone know if there is a way to see a replay of it?

It should be available on the WatchESPN app. Just saw it on there under replays.

We are in no tremendous position we play 2 tough opponents

Right. I mean before this game ESPN was only giving us a 1% chance of winning the division so I would hardly call it a tremendous position

That being said, it's still nice to see us finally at least in the conversation.

A few observations to go along with Eric.

Total domination on the line of scrimmage along with tough strong backs made it clear uk was the dominant team.

Some criticism this week towards Love, thought he played real well today.

Bad penalty to extend drive for um in first half, still have no idea that was a late hit over on their sidelines.

Very good organization on the defensive side of the ball.

Johnson continues to throw high especially over the middle, if we can hit that little dump to Conrad that will open up the run even more as the outside Lb can't cheat.

Punting is still a huge issue as we continue to lose yards in punt exchange, not even counting the rugby kick coverage disaster today.

35-21 though on the road? And it should have been somewhere around 45-10? Great win!

I'm excited to. It's been quite a turnaround, and we probably have one of the best RB tandems in the country. But let's not get too carried away. I think the Cats can beat Georgia in Lexington, but I give them very little chance in Knoxville. When's the last time we won there? 30 years ago? It would be nice though to at least go down there having a chance for a share or even the SEC East title. Who would have believed 6 weeks ago we'd even be talking about it. I credit 3 things. The insertion of Johnson and Snell into the LU, and Stoops focusing himself more on D. I have to believe that at the least we can beat Akron and get bowl eligible.

It sure was great to see a UK football team go into someone else's house and run all over them.

Akron? If it was Akron, I'd be a tad nervous. It's Austin Peay, arguably the worst team in FCS. We'll be favored by 45 points, if a line is even set. They're 15 points worse than Charlotte on a neutral field. It's a lock, an absolute lock.

If by some miracle we won the SEC East, I kinda shudder to think of the beating Alabama might put on us in the SEC title game. Still, it would be amazing to make it to Atlanta since I've never seen UK play in a title game.

I'd gladly take that beating, if it meant going to Atlanta. That happens, and we're in Orlando or Tampa for a bowl game.

Nah, I'm sure you didn't fail. Florida has 1 less win than UK. If they lose, we have a 1/2 game lead in the East. The tie breaker doesn't favor us; but, for at least a week, we would be all alone in first.

A couple of you fellas are killing me reference the standings (LOL);

Kentucky 4-2
Florida 3-1

That works out to a tie. This is easy stuff. Cats have on more win. Gators have one less loss. After today, UK will be half a game out or half a game up.

Always love your posts, man, but that's not a tie. One is a winning percentage of .666 and one is .750. End of the day, though, we are either up or down a half a game. Great place to be heading in to November. Great day. GBB!

It's a tie. Look at it this way. If UF moves to 4-1 and UK is 4-2, is UK a full game back or half a game back? The answer is half a game back. SOOO, if UK is half a game back (if UF moves to 4-1), what does that make them when Florida is 3-1 (LOL)?

LOL...this is incredibly simple stuff.

That's why you'll often hear it said - "tied but a game back in the loss column."

It is totally a tie (winning percentages aren't used to determine standings).

Check out the UK football page on ESPN. It shows UK on top of the division, tied with the Gators.

Jesus h Crud. Some of you on here are insufferable. What Eric is saying is FLorida still has to go to Arkansas and LSU he is anticipating those two games as losses.

Can't everyone just celebrate our 2nd place in the SEC east and the fact we have a HUGE home game this week against GA..

It is unbelievable to read some of the responses in this thread.

Love the game summary, but isn't this next game at least the 6th time this season that the game is the biggest of the Stoops era?

LOL know1...absolutely. And if they beat Georgia, then insert Tennessee in the same sentence. The more you win, the bigger they get.

1. I don't think UGA is very good. Doubt we'll be favored, even in commonwealth, but not that impressed.

2. Tennessee's schedule is a joke from here out. We are their best opponent left and they get us at home. We probably have to beat them in neyland to win the east.

Defensive line still not doing much, but I thought the BACK 7 looked solid. Offensive line looks so much better. Anxious to see them vs. UGA. Johnson was just about perfect today. Running game is unreal.

UGA will be a tough one, and I don't see them winning in Knoxville. But, being back in a bowl will work! Baby steps.

We knew D-Line was thin this season and would be an issue...

I'm pleasantly surprised with some our young D-Line players like Middleton...

I thought Elam would take a step forward this season. I really can't believe how bad he has turned out this season. It seems he can't overcome his weight issue and keep it off.

Gators still have LSU squad that has gotten back on track.

Wouldn't rule out Arkansas playing spoiler. They tend to catch a second wind and poop all over somebody's parade this time of year.
