@ulismyman , was that Terry caller you? Seemed like you. Called into KSR and did the same Willis rant that UMM gave here.... but didnt get time to get his point across all the way on football but said something like teams that win those type of games will have let downs afterwards.
So UMM , if thats you.. care to explain yourself?

Because its just as likely it rejuvenates the UK team to come out and knock Missouri in the mouth. Really just depends on how Stoops and staff goes about this week in instructing / coaching our players.

IMHO I think any lulls in UK compared to recently will be because its a road game instead of a home game and wont have the crowd to cheer them on.... or maybe missouri likes going dirty bastages and steals play calls or turns off our head sets or some other dirty sec home field tricks. I dont think our celebration can negatively impact us because the team knows they still have to get 2 more wins. I can see it possibly having a negative impact if we were already bowl eligible and the kids might exhale some but they know there is no time to exhale..... still got 2 more to reach their goal.

Yes Wildcat that was me...it was no knock on our team whatsoever...it just happens a lot in sports when a team gets a big win or has hard fought game one week they are a little flat the next week...especially a noon start on the road....take NC State for example...they had Clemson beat and missed a chip shot to win it....then came out and got pounded saturday...they were very flat...not saying that will happen to us but i hope Stoops guards against it

This is the way I see it,a win this week and we are in a bowl. The players know it and the coaches should remind them of it every day and telling them we need your best effort this week. They are on the edge of uncharted territory for this group,a bowl on the line against a team that you match up with very well.

I would think a letdown would be the last thing you expect to see from this team

I agree its something we need to guard against. It can be hard to get focused after an emotional game

I just think Stoops will constantly remind our guys we havent done anything yet.

I would rather be guarding against a let down after a big win, than the melt down we would be having if we had lost the last two games. This team is starting to show resilience. I don't think we'll see anything like what happened in the Swamp.

I know a lot of people are excited about the recent wins. But a let down is not in the question. We will beat Austin Peay and Mizzou. Get our six wins and go to a bowl game.
Think about where we were 5 weeks ago. Calling for Stoops head, saying the team has quit on him, and just a general lack of belief. I told you all we would get 6 wins. Never even questioned it.

If I invest in some late blooming S&P overseas tech starts, will I capitalize on a 25-50 K investment ? Man you're good [cheers]

Not sure of the investment, but if you send it to me, I will guarantee a negative return on the initial investment and send you post cards from my vacation.

I realise many will consider this unrealistic and maybe it is, but, coaches in order to motivate will remind this team that they are still in the hunt for the SEC East championship. Crazy but true. Stranger things have happened in football (I guess).

Could happen. Let's face it. This is the kind of situation where have been famous for sleepwalking our way to an embarrassing loss,

Hopefully this team is different.

It's up to the coaching staff to have us ready to play, and at this point in the season with what we have observed since the UF game, I think they will. Mizzou being favored helps in that regard, IMO. Keep playing the "no respect" theme. LOL!

That's a good point as well.

This ^^^^

Our past history says we will lay an egg in Missouri. But this team may have a different type of player, one who is focused and ready for the challenge. I am glad we are playing a weak SEC East team and trust history does not repeat. A road win and 4-2 SEC record would be a big boost for this team. I think they will get the job done.

Except for home cooking calls which Kentucky rarely gets anyway, i'm not sure playing at home is such an advantage. When things are going badly Commonwealth can sound like a morgue. Kentucky played poorly at Florida but pretty well at Alabama. Missouri should not be as intimidating as Florida or Alabama.

you people playing junior psychologist are pretty amusing. funniest thing, had we gone on to win convincingly (as we would have if not for the fumble/scoop/score when driving for TD leading 34-24) y'all would be professing the team would go into Mizzou overconfident and ripe for a letdown.

Almost as if we did not win a close hard fought 1 score SEC victory against Vandy 14 days before Miss St & the team came out focused & executed well! Or win an emotional 1st of the season against NMST & 7 days later one a tough come from behind (trailed at halftime) game against South Carolina!

The team & coaches know this Sat is a must win & we ain't near good enough yet to throw our helmets on the field & expect the other team to roll over & play dead. Getting 6+ wins means this weekends game is life & death to all of them.

I don't see a letdown happening for a couple of reasons. First, the open date happened at the perfect time for UK and this will only be the second game out of it. Second, I think Stoops has a chip on his shoulder after all those rumors and it appears it has also motivated the team which was left for dead after the Florida game. We will see.

Yes it's crazy, but consider this... If we win the next two 2 could go into kville with that on the line!!!!

I think this team handles and gets up better after a win, then when it loses. Crazy I know. They have handled winning after the last two and did not have a let down, so I do not see it this week. Whatever happened at halftime of the NM State game, it worked and is working, keeping doing what they are doing,,, winning. Knowing what is on the line and the thin margin of error, I think they know what they need to do. When they got ran out of the stadium is when they hung their heads and showed no effort. At Bama, they showed me a lot in a losing effort, I think the light has clicked with this group, addition by subtraction and some firm coaching and teaching, now player buy in. Kids.

I dont think our celebration can negatively impact us because the team knows they still have to get 2 more wins.

Let downs after big wins are common in college football, but let downs are more of an emotional and physiological reaction to a big win, not a mental one. What they "know" is really irrelevant.

As a handicapper I look for let down situations each week, but I don't think Kentucky fits the scenario this week. Winner's that let down are usually teams that feel "fat and happy" after their win. That usually comes from a relatively easy win. Then thinking "we've got this" going into the next week they find themselves two scores behind before they know what hit them and not being able to garner enough energy to come back.

This is a game we could have easily lost and had to scrap back to save the win at the end. I think the team stays on edge this week and will turn in a good hard performance Saturday against Mizzou.

Difference is NC State had an emotional loss vs Clemson before they traveled to Louisville. UK won emotional game at home before going on road. 2 possibilities after big win, you carry that confidence and physicality, or you become complacent. I think we'd be more likely to see a letdown vs Georgia bc people would know Peay makes 6 if we beat Mizzou.
