Seems like a great guy, not just a great coach.

No, with some help Houston would be UofL's play-in game.
Correct. And the other ACC division, like the SEC East compared to the SEC West, is freaking awful compared to the UL/Fla St./Clemson division.

Permanent conference divisions are stupid.

If both of those teams win out ... both in playoff?

Hell of a game.

Very likely, IMO. The PAC and Big 12 are in a pickle that might open the door for Houston or 2 to get in from the ACC or B1G. I suspect if TAMU continues to win and loses a close one to Bama only, the SEC would have an argument. UL will be favored in every remaining game, perhaps even at Houston. It should win out. I am less confident this Clemson team goes undefeated. They play wildly inconsistent, despite their obvious talent. If they slip once, would 2 one loss ACC teams get in? UL fans have to hope Clemson does not lose or it loses twice.

If that is what you meant, then I'm sorry...

But that isn't what you posted.......and i'm not psychic.
It definitely reads that he doesnt care if UK wins. It's been clarified however, so moving on.

UL has almost no chance to be in the playoff. Clemson will be the representative of the division UL plays in the ACC title game. No way, imo, they take UL as a second ACC team in the playoff. Alabama, OSU, Michigan, Clemson, Washington are probably the front runners at this point.

All depends what happens in the Pac 12 with Washington...Right now it looks like the ACC, SEC & B1G are pretty much locks if form holds....if the Pac 12 eats itself up it comes down to Michigan-(#2 Team in the B1G East), Louisville-(#2 Team in the ACC Atlantic) or Houston-(American)....if not the CFP it is the Orange Bowl more than likely against either Wisconsin/Nebraska/Michigan

Michigan get the invite over UL. Easily. As does any one loss SEC team. UL has no chance.

Stewart Mandell has a different opinion...apparently just maybe the National perception is different for the ACC Atlantic...

Kirk Heebstreit also says as much:

Louisville now has a loss and, most likely, will not be winning the ACC this season, but an 11-1 Cardinals’ squad is still a decent bet to make the College Football Playoff.

Kirk Herbstreit outlined what would need to happen following Louisville’s loss to Clemson on Saturday night:

  • Louisville beats Houston and finishes 11-1
  • The Big 12 champion has at least one loss
  • The Pac-12 champion has at least one loss
This could potentially allow for the following College Football Playoff:

  1. SEC champion (Alabama, probably)
  2. Big 10 champion (Ohio State or Michigan, probably)
  3. ACC champion (Clemson, probably)
  4. Louisville
It’s not that far-fetched.

I'm just saying the National Media as of now disagrees with your current assessment/opinion....but Louisville needs to win out and needs help IMO out West...from Mandall at Fox to Herbstreit at ESPN....if not on to the Orange Bowl more than likely against a B1G/SEC opponent

You're also taking opinions the day after UL loses a 6 point game to Clemson. If you fast forward 4-5 weeks and you have a one-loss A&M that has wins over UCLA, Tennessee, LSU, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Auburn, etc, then that resume looks a hell of a lot better than UL resume which has one win over an overrated FSU team. Who you beat matters and the sad thing for UL will be that they just don't beat that many good teams.

Exactly. UL has beaten no one this year. FSU is a mediocre 2-2 team. Getting a close loss at Clemson like Troy did will mean nothing in December.

Isn't it bad enough that they're actually in the conversation?

Kinda takes the sting out of enjoying their loss when they'll still end up likely with 8/9 wins

And you can say the same with Tennessee close win against Appy State...again just stating the current opinion...Louisville CFP hopes are out of it hands...what it can control is the remaining schedule...win out including winning at Top 8 Houston on the road boost the resume...and again if not the CFP if they do that it is on to either the Orange Bowl as the ACC Rep or the Cotton Bowl as an At Large...don't think we will fall that far at all when the rankings come out....the CBS Sports Projected AP Top 25 has Louisville only dropping to #5

I still think a 1-loss Big Ten and PAC 12 champion would get the invite over a 11-1 Louisville team. They're not going to put 2 teams from a division that has Wake Forest, BC, Syracuse, and NC State in the college football playoff. Those are 4 of the 10 worst Power 5 teams.

It was mentioned on here about a 1 loss Tennessee team getting in, they have South Carolina, Missouri, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky in their division...

And they also have the #1 team in the nation in their conference that they play. Take your rocky face back to the bird site.
