I can only guess that the first two experts are impressed by the way he can take a sack for a loss of 20 yards while the other two are not so much?Weird, if you read the link. 4 "experts", one has him as the top pick, one has him as the 6th pick, and two don't have him in the first round at all.

Torn. He sure looked great down the stretch last year, but when you back away, his biggest plays were improvised after the pocket collapsed. To all the people who say he is "great", I don't see it. He is a great athlete but he isn't close to being a great qb.
Hence, the "great athlete" point. He looked great at the end of last season but he really didn't look like a great qb, he looked like a great athlete making something out of nothing. During the great run of games to end last season, the team looked like a HS team with a really great athlete at qb. The defense last year also covered up a lot of deficiencies in the offense.Torn. Agreed.
There was a LOT of angst when it was mentioned in the offseason that Sellers would need to improve to become a top level qb. This offended some posters greatly, even though they eventually agreed.
But he really needed to improve as a passer, and I dont think he has. If anything, he's regressed.
His draft status now is based of his athleticism and the fact that hes got a strong arm.
The Sellers worshippers tend to forget he was not recruited by any of the big name college programs. There is a reason for that. I posted the list of schools that offered him and I think Virginia, VT, Syracuse and SC were the only P4 programs who offered him. The others were all G5 or FCS.Agreed.

Goodness, remember those threads? lol Soooo much bickering about Sellers.

I was reminded of them recently when someone started talking about his stats, and I went and looked them up.
2024
2534 yds. 18 TD's. 7 INT's
In 13 games, thats 195 yards a game, 1.4 TD's and game.
2025
1134 yds. 5 TD's. 2 INT's
In 7 games, thats 162 yds per game, and. .7 TD's per game.
His rushing has also dropped off
2024
674 yds (4.1 yards per carry) and 7 tds
2025
108 yds (1.3 yardsper carry) and 1 TD
For the rushing, that is impacted by sacks. He had 33 in 2024 (2.53 per game) and has 25 in 2025. (3.5 per game)
So after all that bickering about whether he needed to improve or not, and he throws us all for a loop and regresses.
Makes me wonder, even if his draft grade slips to say 3rd round, if he might still jump and get what he can while he can.
If he came back next year and put up comparable results, he'd probably drop to a 5th or so rounder.
He's still got some equity from last year's late run he can cash in on.
Like Rattler. If he does go # 1 overall the positive is the $$ and the prestige, the negative is he would most like be going at another team with a terrible OL.
Yes.
From a completely selfish perspective, what would his choices be? Go mid round, or come back to us with a probably weak OL again and (barf) possibly the same OC? A third option is transfer to a better team/staff.
Selfishly, coming back to us is the worst option, but that is where his loyalty may push him.
Like Rattler.![]()
Sellers is half the QB that Rattler is.Saints are 1-6 and Jets 0-7, worse for Rattler, could be drafted by the Saints to replace him. That would be ironic
