According to this article they are talking to 17 schools and looking to either stay at 10 or expand by 2 to 12 teams.http://www.espn.com/college-footbal...er-bob-bowlsby-interview-17-schools-expansion
I'll believe he's serious when he says they belong in the B10.Urban Meyer thinks Cincinnati should be one of the teams to join the B12.
That makes the most sense to me. I am a BYU alum, and a football season ticket holder at BYU.That the hot rumor....if BYU get in it is Football only...most of the Olympic Sports and Basketball have Sunday games...not Morman so don't know the entire issue.
Who knows what goes on behind closed doors>http://www.cbssports.com/college-fo...p-10-candidates-and-breaking-down-the-latest/
I have no clue but here is my thinking
BYU - for sure
Cinn - Geographical close to WVA for their rival
Houston - should be but think no so that it would not already dilute the Texas market
Colorado State - maybe just rival for BYU
Memphis - Just to dig deeper into SEC territory
UCF to get foot into Florida market
UConn - get northeast market
So if I had to guess it would be as follows
BYU
Cinn
Then
Colorado State
then one of the following
Memphis/UCF/UConn
.... TCU, Kansas could go B1G. West Virginia would go ACC with one more TBA..
I could believe Kansas to the B1G, but TCU going there sounds pretty far fetched.
And one thing for certain: it's pretty well known that the ACC has no interest in West Virginia. WVU has been trying to get into the ACC since the league was formed. They've asked and been turned down several times. I'm not sure why that is, but it is. I think WVU to the SEC is more likely, and I doubt that would happen either.
WVU is far superior to Louisville. The Big 12 isn't going anywhere until it's grant of rights expires in 2025, but the ACC would gladly trade Louisville for WVU if it could get away with it.
Yes. TCU not in AAU. KS is.I could believe Kansas to the B1G, but TCU going there sounds pretty far fetched.
There aren't enough TV's in OK to justify that.To me, if the Big 12 broke up Oklahoma and Oklahoma State would likely go SEC .
There aren't enough TV's in WV for that.I think WVU to the SEC is more likely, .

WVU and Louisville went toe to toe when they were both trying to get into the Big 12 at the same time. The Big 12 compared the schools and chose WVU, because it is the better program. Since getting into the ACC, the only thing Louisville has done is to embarras the conference with a nasty hookers for recruits scandle. Not true....even most WVU ppl would disagree with this post....apparantly a lot of bad history with WVU & many schools in the ACC.
For WVU sake I hope they do expand and extend the GoR...2025 is looming for them and schools like Iowa State...

I agree...Take OSU and OK and call it a day for the SEC. It adds quality fb, basketball, and baseball.
Gotta think Houston and Memphis at the top of the list....with Cincinnati, UConn, BYU, East Carolina and UCF or USF on the next tier....
Houston, SMU and TCU were part of the old Southwest Conference that were all Texas schools and Arkansas.Geographically...Houston makes sense, but not financially. As has been discussed in so much of this expansion talk the reason to expand is to gain new markets. Houston doesn't fit for the same reasons that Clemson, Florida State and Georgia Tech would never get into the SEC...those markets are covered already and the way the TV contracts are written they wouldn't produce any additional revenue. The Big 12 already has plenty of feet in the Houston/Texas market so I doubt it would want any more.
Cincy, Memphis, BYU, UCF, USF are the schools I would think are on the top of the list with others like So Miss, Boise St...as plan b candidates.
