beat Houston first and we do beat either the Hogs or Rebs? And which "administration" are you referring to, its a Liberty Bowl rule that says 2 in state schools cant play is it not?

but... Our administration has not singed off on anything related to any bowl. Also, unless something has changed since this morning, not a single person in leadership at MSU is in favor of playing USM in the Liberty. Most believe that we can use that possible match upto force our way into Music City.
I've heard a lot of ridiculous crap lately, including that MSU admin would prefer the Liberty over Music City. At the end of the day a bowl is better than no bowl, but I assure that the Liberty bowl will not be "signed off on" until there is absolutely no other option.

If you like ****** incoherent posts.

We have not agreed to play in the liberty bowl, no matter what some **** in Memphis may say. Our chances of Music city are still legitimately.

The rule is that no SEC school can be forced to play in the Liberty against an in-state school unless there is no other bowl available for the SEC school to go to. Since the Liberty and the Compass bowls share the last pick, there will always be another bowl available to the SEC team. However, there's nothing in the rule that says the SEC school couldn't agree to play in the Liberty against an in-state school. In other words, if the Music City doesn't take us and USM is in the Liberty, we would have the choice of either the Liberty or the Compass bowls.

of USM and Houston (if both win thier next 2 regular season games) will play in the Sugar Bowl. This comes from the head of the Sugar Bowl quoted in the Times Picayune yesterday.

You mean the Sugar Bowl is going to be Houston or USM against likely either Alabama or LSU (whichever is not in the BCS NC Game). I guess the Sugar Bowl matchup just ain't what it used to be.

But I honestly can't think of one that I know off hand. I know plenty of people that went to Southern, but none of them give a **** about USM football or have ever talked **** about USM or Ole Miss football to me.

Im not even talking **** here, I genuinely can't think of a single time that a USM fan actually gave me **** about Ole Miss failures or USM's success.

Am I the only one that hasn't been subject to the wrath of the USM faithful?

Their fans seem to think they are the envy of the nonBCS world. Other schools have treated the Conference of Unwanted Schools of America as some two bit ***** using it as a stepping stone to a somewhat respectable conference. Yet, for all the socalled wonderful seasons and all the to the top ********, no BCS conference has ever extended an offer to their marginal school. Why is that?

You guys would collectively give your left nuts, your AAs from PRCC and MGCCC, and all the chain restaurants on Hardy Street to be in a conference as stellar as the Big LEast.

I know 10% of their fans but he just doesn't care that much now. He's more likely to talk about the times when USM was a comparable program to Ole Miss and State than their current season. Now that the SEC has tilted the playing field so much against USM, I don't think he can get excited about it.

If you want to be depressed about what MSU getting left out of the conference realignment sweepstakes would be like, hang around an older southern fan.

That said, from a purely selfish perspective, if USM were to beat Houston, I'd hope the voters would drop them down far enough in the polls to keep them out of the BCS games. There's already enough incentive to schedule a powderpuff schedule. Making it to a BCS bowl by beating one top 25 team and going undefeated is bad. Making it after beating one top 25 team and losing to a crappy CUSA team is really inexcusable.

<div class="content">I don't know why we tend to hate OM more.
They just tend to act as we don't exist.
<span style="font-weight: bold;">MSU fans are REALLY the ones who hate us.</span><br style="font-weight: bold;"><br style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Read the SPS board for a minute if you don't believe me.</span>
They down us every chance they get.
There was a good section about this on "MS Sports This Morning" this a.m.

Honestly....I don't hate them...the fact is I don't ever think about them.....and if this link hadn't been provided I wouldn't have even know they had a 'working' message board......

Obvious you don't know Mississippi's new Governor. He is a diehard Southern Miss fan.
