Matt runs a blog where he predicts the start times and networks for every college football game. There is apparently a Sunday slot at 7:30 on NBC of Labor Day weekend. He picks RU-NW to fill that slot.
Hmm, not sure how I feel about that. Could be a good Labor Day weekend barbecue.yes we are home
Looks like Minnesota has dibs. They've hosted on the opening Thursday night the last three years.I wish we’d grab that Thursday night slot every year
It’s where we’ve made our mark - and leaves LDW completely open
“I moved Northwestern at Rutgers over, but I have no clue what game will move.”
Basically, he admits that he is just guessing at this point.
Monday Holiday.
It's probably a Peacock game.Pretty sure NBC is showing the NASCAR Southern 500 during that slot
Wow you’re right, this was an NBC race for years but it looks like it got demoted to USA (ouch). It's probably a Peacock game.
EDIT: Maybe not. The Nascar race is on USA, which is under the NBC umbrella.
Thursday night is taken, NE@MN on FS1.Hate that
How about Thursday or even Fri night?
Last night of the summer unofficially in Jersey. No way people are going to hit up that game if they are down the Shoreand how many people are leaving their shore houses on Sunday night to come up for a football game when they still have one more day off to enjoy?
Sunday night of a holiday weekend totally blows
Look at the schedule for that weekend (which I posted above) and tell me which game you'd slot in there. Keep in mind we don't know the network order of selection. This is NBC’s first BIG game …Sunday night football ! they really gonna kick it off with the two worst teams in the league ???? What a stink fest
Bruce also playing in NJ that night. Maybe not a ton of overlap with the game, but still...Last night of the summer unofficially in Jersey. No way people are going to hit up that game if they are down the Shore

I hope it's not Friday, I have Bruce tickets that night.Bruce also playing in NJ that night. Maybe not a ton of overlap with the game, but still...
Ok second game , with the 2 last place teams !!It would actually be their 2nd. They have their first game the night before

It would get terrible ratings nationallyOk second game , with the 2 last place teams !!

Here's what Sarz is assuming I think:Ok second game , with the 2 last place teams !!
I wonder what announcers we’d get for NBC’s backup game . Maybe the Notre dame crewHere's what Sarz is assuming I think:
First pick - Fox - ECU @Mich
Second pick - CBS - WVU @ PSU
Third pick - NBC - OSU @ Indiana
Fourth pick - NBC again... Not much left to choose from!
I actually think they’ve gotten their act together since kicking Brian France to the curb but i agree, 2005-2016 NASCAR was Penn Central-level management malpracticeNASCAR is in the process of committing suicide over the last 10 years or so.
Friday would be good tooLooks like Minnesota has dibs. They've hosted on the opening Thursday night the last three years.
Shame the rumored Amazon Friday night package never materialized.
I think Friday night BTN is a possibility IF none of the "paying customers" want the game. But I think someone will.Friday would be good too
Leaves the whole weekend open, and definitely better than Sunday
Additionally, and selfishly, Sunday would be the worst as I'll be down in Orlando for FSU - LSU.
Friday would be perfect. Long tailgate, solid night game, get some shut eye, wake up early, flight down to MCO on Saturday morning, nap, night out on the town, then Sunday long tailgate, and another solid night game
Now on Monday... I'd be feeling like death!
