“I moved Northwestern at Rutgers over, but I have no clue what game will move.”

Basically, he admits that he is just guessing at this point.

It makes a TON of sense.

The B1G "owns" 10 games on the opening Saturday. An 11th, Nebraska @ Minnesota, is already booked for Thursday.

The ten games are:

Ohio State @ Indiana
Northwestern @ Rutgers
Toledo @ Illinois
Utah State @ Iowa
Towson @ Maryland
East Carolina @ Michigan
Central Michigan @ Michigan State
West Virginia @ Penn State
Fresno State @ Purdue
Buffalo @ Wisconsin

If Peacock wants to open with a B1G conference matchup, it's either us or OSU-IU, which could be noncompetitive.

Sunday of Labor Day weekend is terrible. Have it on the Friday night like we did a couple of years ago.

First we have everyone and their grandmother predicting March Madness brackets (extremely incorrectly for Rutgers I might add). Now we have way before the season starts schedule predictors??? I give up.

Look at the schedule for that weekend (which I posted above) and tell me which game you'd slot in there. Keep in mind we don't know the network order of selection.

If NBC chooses the game, it's because they think it's the best remaining choice in terms of TV matchup. They don't give a rat's *** about what it may do to attendance. Nor should they.

I THINK that for most weekends, FOX gets first choice for its B1G Noon matchup. Then CBS at 3:30. Then NBC gets third choice. In this case, maybe third and fourth choices. At the fourth pick, there really aren't that many attractive matchups left that weekend.

Ok second game , with the 2 last place teams !!
Here's what Sarz is assuming I think:

First pick - Fox - ECU @Mich
Second pick - CBS - WVU @ PSU
Third pick - NBC - OSU @ Indiana
Fourth pick - NBC again... Not much left to choose from!

I wonder what announcers we’d get for NBC’s backup game . Maybe the Notre dame crew

NASCAR is in the process of committing suicide over the last 10 years or so.
I actually think they’ve gotten their act together since kicking Brian France to the curb but i agree, 2005-2016 NASCAR was Penn Central-level management malpractice

Looks like Minnesota has dibs. They've hosted on the opening Thursday night the last three years.

Shame the rumored Amazon Friday night package never materialized.
Friday would be good too
Leaves the whole weekend open, and definitely better than Sunday

Additionally, and selfishly, Sunday would be the worst as I'll be down in Orlando for FSU - LSU.

Friday would be perfect. Long tailgate, solid night game, get some shut eye, wake up early, flight down to MCO on Saturday morning, nap, night out on the town, then Sunday long tailgate, and another solid night game

Now on Monday... I'd be feeling like death!

I think Friday night BTN is a possibility IF none of the "paying customers" want the game. But I think someone will.

and how many people are leaving their shore houses on Sunday night to come up for a football game when they still have one more day off to enjoy?

Sunday night of a holiday weekend totally blows

Many people work on Friday so this is much better imo.
