As UK fans debate covering the spread as being a measuring stick to demonstrate progress, Lamar Jackson is putting his foot down on Clemson's throat to help complete their choke job at home and stand front and center in the Heisman race. All the excuses apologists are making for why UK doesn't win in the SEC (recruiting base, facilities, conference foes with tradition, Joker's mess, etc) are getting thrown in UK's face by Louisville. You want a moral victory to show progress? Vandy lost by a touchdown to Florida.

Also, Clemson is killing themselves. They had two TOs (one where a wide-open receiver had a ball bounce off the numbers on his chest and the other was a TE fumbling as he's running toward the end-zone) that were 100% self-inflicted that resulted in two UL scores. Not like UL has forced the TOs.

They haven't won yet.
No, and they may not win. But the fact many UK fans are ok "beating the spread" tonight while UL took the lead at Clemson after being down 28-10 at the half with Clemson having the ball to start the second half tells you all you need to know about how each administration approaches football

When U.K. plays in bad conferences that might have you play one decent opponent for decades to build your program then switch to a decent conference , it might result in how Louisville built their program . The situations couldn't be more different but people continue to compare them just because UL is within state boundaries .

You would think being in the SEC would give UK a recruiting advantage over programs like UL...

Remember..."they s'pose to be SEC!"

Beating a bunch of bad teams is a better recruiting tool than losing in the sec . I don't know why people claim being in the sec is an automatic recruiting tool , if you're already elite then it probably does give a school the edge versus a non sec school . But to think you can build your program and import most of your team simply because you're in the sec is misunderstanding the predicament .
