I was going to say- you were both agreeing.
It's funny but how many other middle of the road P5 teams are beating Mich/OSU/Iowa/PSU in any given year. Mich/Iowa/PSU - all on the road.

Wisconsin on the road before their starting QB went down. 7-5 Northwestern the other crossover. Top 3 west teams. It’s not like we didn’t play a power conference bowl team as one of our 3 OOC games. We played a buzz saw of a schedule overall.

Say what? Everyone plays a few cupcakes out of conference. We played arguably one of the toughest aggregate schedules in the country to get to 6-6.
We had the second toughest schedule of anyone in the country according to Schiano, and we went 6-6. That’s actually pretty good, considering where we are as a program right now. I’m excited about the bowl and look forward to one more game this season.

Schiano will have them ready.

But so will Cristobal. And I expect Cristobal knows Schiano better than the other way around.

Go Rutgers. This one is entirely up to the players.

Pernetti is a better man than I am; I wouldn't have anything to do with this school after how it treated him.
He hung around the school for years. He took time to have lunch with my son after he got out of the NFL and into business, he was there for so many other ex Rutgers players...Dude became even more successful but still always supported players and the team

Shouldn’t have hired flood and rice. I don’t doubt he’s a good man as many posters here state.

When you don't have the funding to get the best or even close to it, you gamble the best you can uising your limited funds.
That's what Tim did hiring the water softener after Super Mario backed out of being RU's FB HC and and the uncle ben reject that had potential but a questionable coaching tactic .
Also Tom made sure the class Schiano recruited before he bolted down south at the last minute stayed intact .
All though tha ages RU AD's have muffed a lot when hiring FB HC,
As for I like Mike, who knows how it would have turned out if the RU President looked at the edited tapes when asked instead of acting offended when issue was brought up after Rice was suspended and went to anger management as part of his punishment and cleaning house to cover his own butt .
Everything in that fiasco wasn't as it seemed , Tim did what he felt legal obliged to on the advice of RU's legal department
Tim was a good AD who helped RU become a member of the B1G, continuing what Mulcahy started

He made bad gambles. Very bad and he paid for the rice one with his job.

With Tim- he tried to get a couple of other HC's prior to deciding to go with Flood(on advice and recommendation from GS) - And I will stick to my guns that if Tim had stayed here- most of what happened with Flood, never would have happened at all. Tim would have also been willing and able to mentor Flood as well. Was Tim was out, Flood was left on his own and without funds to even hire someone with experience enough to help him out in the lockerroom.

I don’t think so. flood’s team collapsed in 2012 and the writing was on the wall - pernetti was still AD .
Then in 2013 it continued and got worse , I don’t think pernetti was gonna help from us getting rolled by the mighty Houston’s and ucf’s of the world . Flood was also recruiting too many duds . Flood’s duds
And you shouldn’t have to “mentor” your head football coach anyway

Hey @AreYouNUTS - am I hallucinating or did you make a post about the usual RU/NUTS bowl party? Can't seem to find it and I searched. Haven't done hallucinogens in years, lol.

2012 - that L'Ville game was far from a collapse. Even with the heroics of Teddy- we were a horrible call away from the championship and 10-2 season.
And when you hire your OL Coach to be HC - of course there is a need for mentoring.

This is definitely the case: Pernetti was severely hamstrung by the BOG in terms of the compensation for the position AND the compensation for all the supporting staff.

Everything in that fiasco wasn't as it seemed , Tim did what he felt legal obliged to on the advice of RU's legal department

That's what is so frustrating is that he followed appropriate university procedure in going through the right channels, and then Barchi hung him out to dry.

And I will stick to my guns that if Tim had stayed here- most of what happened with Flood, never would have happened at all. Tim would have also been willing and able to mentor Flood as well.

I agree with this. I think Flood was left rudderless when Pernetti was fired: then they brought someone in as AD who had zero experience working with a big time football program. And she undercut him from the getgo.

I didn't forget Pitt- if you noticed- I said 10-2
And the bowl is the bowl- Gary had a horrible game and they shut down our running game on a horrible turf. We really didn't have a good offense that year. GS 1.0 had done what he was doing- getting top defensive players and chasing a few star offensive players with no backup plan if he didn't get them. We often talk about all the NFL players on that team- but neglect to mention- they were pretty much all on defense.

Tim's problem was not having a plan B and then had to scramble.....amongst other things

absolutely disregard for proper management

Unfortunately, you are not hallucinating! We removed the posts for now, as we’re waiting on a little more information, but all is good and we should be ready to go with the threads on Thursday at some point.

Sorry about that everyone!!!
