Seems they wanted some quality time with Chaney to discuss what ails their running game. See the linked story from their site. Hope our young defenders are ready. This game is setting up to be a real brawl... us trying to stay on our roll and prove we are, at least in the East, now a player, and them trying to make clear they are still UGA.

This game is enormous for both teams. Unlike Missouri, which looked pretty pathetic against us, I think Georgia will come out pissed off and try to push us around. They'll want to run it all over us and stop our running game. I hope, and believe, our team will be ready to fight back.

In the past, when UK has had a decent-to-good team that seemed to make some waves in the league, they have generally wilted when other SEC teams push back. I hope this team realizes that, no matter how well they play, and how much progress they make, SEC opponents will always fight you hard and try to preserve "their place" above UK in the pecking order.

Dealing with success is at least as important as dealing with adversity. As a colleague of mine said, the fact they are playing well with running the ball and hitting hard on defense, should be more encouraging this time around than, say, a Mumme-like "basketball on grass" approach.

Totally agree. This "necessity is the mother of invention" season and its emphasis on the running game has us better prepared for a title fight game than the "finesse" teams Mumme gave us. Coach Brooks had us playing this kind of ball, though frankly, I don't think he ever enjoyed the kind depth this team has begun to exhibit. To tell the truth, if we outperform and catch a few breaks (turnovers & special teams) in the first half, I think we might push to rout them if we can take Chubb and Michel out of the equation by making them play from behind. The place will go berserk if we pull away from them, and with the noise, life could get really hard for Eason if the D can pin it's ears back, and start sending LB and even the odd DB to lower the boom. It really helps having LB and DB who are fast enough to go late (LB) or get there before they are missed in coverage (DB). It is anyone's ballgame, but if anyone really risks getting rolled, I say it is THEM.

I don't see this as being a "big game" for UGA. This is a team that aspired to win the East this year and now finds themselves at 4-4 and a losing conference record. They know that it's too late to right the ship this season, so now they just want to maintain some level of respectability for a new coach. Also "big games" for UGA are Florida, UT and Auburn, not Kentucky.

We have A TON on the line in this game whereas they have relatively little.

If they have any pride (and I'm sure they do) then I disagree. They have to recognize that beating UK in a typical year is part of their program's identity. Lose to us (especially in a scenario where the game is largely decided entering the 4th) and they are even lower in the water than they appeared going in to the game. I expect a VERY hard fought football game, regardless of score.

I've watched Georgias last three games this week and instead of sitting down with the offensive co-ordinator they should be sitting down with that offensive line. Holy smokes its bad. Lets hope they don't figure it ou t this week.

I'm so torn on this game I don't know what to think. I think part of that is due to UGA just being UGA. I look at the duo of backs they have, and the speed on the outside and return guy.
I don't like a pissed off UGA rolling into town playing for pride.

Then I look at their wins, and the only one that leaves me worried is the one against UNC,they have been underwhelming the rest of the season. We played Missouri better than them (granted Missouri was really banged up when we rolled into town), We beat Vandy at home which they couldn't do.

I think our defense matches up pretty well with their offense. It's been talked about everywhere and highly publicized that their offensive line is bad and undersized. This one will more than likely come down to how well our line can handle their front 7, and if that's a stalemate, can Johnson aka Smith, hit his targets in the passing game.

roughly 53 hours from kickoff and I'm nervous as can be.

CATS must keep Sonny and Nick to the inside! Both these players are running behind a very mediocre o. line!
CATS must play very physical with their receivers!
CATS must keep constant pressure on their young q. back!
CATS must kick away from their fast agile returners!
CATS must keep running down hill!
CATS q. back must connect with Conrad across middle!
CATS vastly improving d. & o lines must continue with their physical play.
If above is achieved CATS will beat the Dawgs!
