Book it - Any transfer will be of the Domann caliber. Satterfield can’t afford to piss off the Clarksons.

Another sign of bad coaching - getting held hostage.

Bet the Clarksons couldnt get away with that at USC, Bama etc.....

You and Ghost are constantly beating this anti-Satterfield drum. He’s building a solid program with depth at all positions, or at least as well as you can in this new era. Very few programs compete for conference championships let alone national championships. Let him do his job. We’ll get there.

I’m not anti Satt, but it’s a legit point.

If we could hypothetically get a good QB but can’t because it could upset an unproven 4 star recruit and his dad, that’s a bit worrying that we only got these recruits because we let them have some control.

Now I’m not saying this is the case, but it is a point to think about. Recruit the best and screw whose feelings it’ll hurt

Louisville’s is a great example of the impact of the portal positive and negative. They get better on defense because of the portal. They got worse on offense because of the portal. Two running backs and Oline quit midsession to transfe. Two starting receivers transfer before the season.

Unlike last year QB in the portal makes a ton of sense. The job is wide open. It is rare for a freshman to make a big impact at QB. It is possible and I think Pierce is a real competitor. Johnson may have something to say as well. Clarkson sat behind some QB’s in High School. They know the game.

With next years schedule Louisville has a good chance to have a really good season. They have to get the QB right. If they add some key guys they have a good chance of being good.

How is what I posted anti-Satterfield? Clarkson is the most important recruit in the class because he’s been mainly responsible for convincing those other 4-5 stars to jump on board. Satterfield can’t afford to piss him off by recruiting another QB that would jeopardize his chance of starting creating a potential domino effect.

The last sentence is contradictory, especially for a place like UofL.

He's built an average program, all the while with one foot out the door.

Will he win 10 or more games here ? Doubt it. Then again if he did, he would get poached which would be fine by me.

Yep. USC and Bama would work with the Clarksons like this but we’re not them. Play the best hand you’re dealt and make the most of it. I won’t fault the staff for that. Hell…put Steve Clarkson on staff as QB coach!

So if by some miracle we fire Satt and hire some genius who wins enough immediately to satisfy you, he would get poached. No difference.

Unless it was Brohm. If he were to come here, the only other place he’d go (were he not to get canned) would be the NFL.

You guys are way off. It's been reported Steve Clarkson is in favor of bringing in a guy next year. He is a former College Football Coach and he knows his son is not physically ready to play at the next level as a true freshman.

Neither Lamar Jackson or Teddy Bridgwater were expected to start as true freshman. It would be hard to believe Mr. Clarkson is better than them?

A transfer QB will most likely be a one year player.

We are not Alabama or USC, we are an urban University competing in the ACC. Satterfield did not invent the NIL or the Transfer Portal, he is just doing whatever he can to work through it like everyone else.

Admittedly this has been a “roller coaster ride” this season; losing to BC, but then beating UCF in Orlando, and beating PITT, WF and NCST. I had little expectation in beating UK when seeing that Cunningham was less that 100% and that Evans was not available.

If Malik and Evans both play in the Bowl game at 100%, I will be optimistic about our chances regardless of the opponent, and I will give credit to Satterfield for getting this roster in that position.

It was not an article. It was a discussion thread on the Premium Recruiting Board. And the moderator pretty much confirmed it. As KR points out, Clarkson is keeping his eyes open for a Transfer QB with 1 yr eligibility. Apparently, Clarkson has run QB Camps in California for years and has a lot of connections.

Maye is playing today against Clemson.

Satterfield should give Virginia QB Armstrong a look.

For sure. He sliced and diced the Cards 2 years ago when he had a team behind him with Bronco as the HC. Not as much this year with Eliot.

Clark son's dad stated he expected his son to not start his first year. It was on a radio sports talk program which was played twice that day. Discussed his job as well as his QB school.
Some of you have too much time to fret and hate on. Maybe instead of negative posts, ask questions of your concern.

Yes they are. And I hope everyone can see how anti-all things Satterfield those two are.
The constant negativity from those two is disheartening.
Satterfield has one of the best recruiting classes coming including a QB from California who chose UL over many top programs. Yet certain non-real fans turn getting a standout like Clarkson into a negative.
