MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (April 30, 2026) – The No. 18 West Virginia University baseball team returns to Kendrick Family Ballpark for its penultimate home series against Kansas State, May 1-3. First pitch on Friday is set for 6:30 p.m., Saturday for 4 p.m., and Sunday for 1 p.m.

This weekend is Alumni Weekend at Kendrick Family Ballpark. The 1996 Big East Championship will be honored before the game on Saturday.
Reserved parking will be in effect for both Friday and Saturday games. Access to the lot adjacent to Kendrick Family Ballpark requires a valid parking pass. A limited number of ADA-accessible spaces are available near Gate A and next to the Clubhouse on a first-come, first-served basis. All other fans should use the general parking lots located across the street from Kendrick Family Ballpark.
The Mountaineers are coming off a series loss on the road at Cincinnati, bringing their season record to 28-12. With a conference record of 13-8, WVU sits in fourth in the Big 12, four games back of Kansas in the lead.
WVU is led by sophomore Gavin Kelly, who currently has a .394 average, 38 RBIs, and six home runs, which is the team lead in each category. Junior Armani Guzman is leading the Big 12 with 24 stolen bases. Senior Paul Schoenfeld is second on the team with 82 total bases, to go along with a .369 average.
Maxx Yehl makes his return to the mound on Friday in the series opener. Yehl missed his last start due to shoulder discomfort, which led to his early exit. The redshirt junior leads the team with a 2.41 ERA and is second on the team with 62 Ks. With Yehl’s return, Chansen Cole stays in the Saturday slot with Dawson Montesa returning on Sunday.
