If we are paying Top 20 money, I expect Top 20 results. 6-6 and just making a bowl is not going to cut it, if we are paying him as the 18th highest paid coach.
When are we going to beat a Top 20 team under Mullen? It's time Mullen, it's time. Stick with TR as QB, unless inside the 5 yard line or he is having a really bad game.

well isn't this a reactionary short-sighted post.

we are still building a program here. give it time to breathe. our OL needs to come together and next year i expect much better blocking now that guys like day and clausell are getting experience.

Hell this is the man's third year. We have sucked for a long time and it will take a little time to turn it around. It's not like Alabama, LSU, GA, FL where you can get the guys you need in your first recruiting class Or like USM where you play nobody and when you do you get your *** handed to you but it you play a candy *** schedule like they do you can win.

After reading something like this and deducing how your mind works, it's impossible to take what you say about MSU basketball seriously ever again.

I guarantee you we ain't sniffing the rear end of top 20. If anyone want's to actually do some good for our program and our University they can and should join the Bulldog Club and pony up some cash.

Time equals money right, well if we could tally up how much time we all spend on message boards and recruiting services and make donations to the Univerity and Athletics Department that represent our 'time investment'. That'd be a good start.

Mullen has a great salary but he has one of the smallest budgets to work with, one of the smallest recruiting budgets to work with, the second smallest Stadium and other limitations when it comes to facilities to work with. Unless Mullen can start dropping gold nuggets from his hinter regions he's got a huge upill battle on his hands. Everytime we lose a 4 or 5 star recruit to Alabama everyone wants to gripe and complain that Mullen can't close. Go look at their Recruiting budget compared to ours.

The excitement he's created, the 15 straight sellouts, and our level of competitiveness amongst the giants in the SEC West tell me Mullen is worth every penny and more. It's on our shoulders to support him as fans and financially support our program if we want to ever get over the hump.

Oh I know. Because the 5 teams we lost to pay their coaches more than us. Simple logic obviously.

I don't read this board a lot. I figured Fishwater might know some stuff since I've always agreed that Stansbury is borderline special ed, but this thread just made me realize he's a dumbass. Get a life and stop trying so hard. We didn't pay him a top 20 salary to be top 20 his third year or bust. We payed him a top 20 salary to bring us up from the ocean floor, from right next to the whale poop. He's doing that. He is smarter than 99% of the people on this board and he is making strides. That's all you can do. Just keep Relf outta the game, please.

Mullen is 0-10 vs the Top 20.
I think it is time for him to win a game we are not supposed to win.
Do we do it this weekend, if not he will be 0-11 vs the Top 20.

Do I think Mullen is a bad coach? No
Do I think he makes some bad calls and over-thinks sometimes? Yes
Do I think Mullen is making a mistake by playing 3 QBs? Yes
Do I want Mullen to succeed at State? Hell Yes
Will we beat Arky? I sure hope so...

So, you're saying that it's time for Dan Mullen to get lucky? I'll be sure to pass this keen insight on to the athletic administration.<div>
</div><div>And, by the way. He's won at least five games he wasn't "supposed" to win. Off the top of my head, we won these games as underdogs:</div><div>
</div><div>First year: Vandy (10.5 point dogs), Kentucky, Ole Miss</div><div>Second year: UGA, Florida,</div><div>Third year: None, so far...</div>

"I think it is time for him to win a game we are not supposed to win."........Georgia & Florida 2010 say, remember us?

You want to beat the upper echelon teams, then we need to start recruiting upper echelon talent. We put together another bowl season this year and we'll start winning over a few of those talents. We put together a string of winning seasons like Jackie did and recruiting comes much easier. Or we could just start schilling out the dollars like a few other area teams.
