If you can get Tapatio, the Tequila, it's affordable and excellent.
It is additive free.

Tequila Matchmaker (link above). What is an easy way to tell if it is additive free?
1) Drink what you like. How do we feel about El Corralejo? I think it's hard to beat for $35 a bottle but I'm newer to the finer points of tequila. Lemme know!
I mainly use it as a go to for margaritas. Your assessment seems commensurate with that use! Thanks!1) Drink what you like.
2) It's not terrible.
3) It's not a "must drink" tequila, IMO.
For a budget blanco I like El Tequileno, Tres Agaves and Insólito which should all be $35 or less. All drink better than their $$$.
I'm a fan of Codigo Extra Anejo( George Straits')If you are (or think you are) into tequila: get the tequilamatchmaker app.
Good tequila is not always expensive tequila.
Almost every tequila associated with a celebrity is total crap.
Additive-free tequila is where it’s at.

SSSHHHHH..... you'll drive the price upMi Familia Reposado. So damn good!
This might be the only celebrity tequila worth buying, IMO.I'm a fan of Codigo Extra Anejo( George Straits')
Tres Agave is a great $30 -35 bottle. Anejo is very good for the price. Tried Espanita Reposado at $30 very good.1) Drink what you like.

I shipped a barrel(Weller Antique) to Corazon and they let it rest for 9 months. It sold out quickly. I currently have a barrel(Buffalo Trace) that is there and we are resting it for 15 months.Went to Steve Earle's songwriting camp and a dude from Toronto turned me onto Gran Dovejo Reposado. $40-50's a bottle, aged in bourbon barrels.
A veeery smooth blanco! Watch your consumption , because it goes down extremely smooth!Low key I love the Rocks Terramana tequila especially for like 20-30 bucks lol
Oh yeah I was very impressed hahaA veeery smooth blanco! Watch your consumption , because it goes down extremely smooth!
What do you do to have access to Antique and BT barrels?I shipped a barrel(Weller Antique) to Corazon and they let it rest for 9 months. It sold out quickly. I currently have a barrel(Buffalo Trace) that is there and we are resting it for 15 months.
A friend just tried this and is blown away by how good it is. He mentioned there is a good story behind how Strait got involved, but I'm not sure if it's all factual. Needless to say, George apparently wouldn't take no for an answer when he got a taste of what these folks were making.I'm a fan of Codigo Extra Anejo( George Straits')
Own a liquor store. What do you do to have access to Antique and BT barrels?
G4 actually has a 108. It’s really good.Was it the 100 proof? I enjoy tequila but I do like a little more proof than 80. I know ow G4 Blanco has a 100 proof.
Teremana has more additives in it than The Rock has in himself.Low key I love the Rocks Terramana tequila especially for like 20-30 bucks lol
Mmmm delicious delicious additivesTeremana has more additives in it than The Rock has in himself.
This reminds me, has anyone noticed the plant based hand gel smells a lot like tequila? Is there a connection? If you've ever had tequila you never forget the smell. How do we feel about El Corralejo? Don't sleep on the lemon or grapefruit in liqueurs, either. Paula knows what she's doing.Sampled a bunch of Blancos today for making a large batch of fresh-squeezed margaritas.
Top 3: Outstanding
Siete Leguas ($55)
Los Dos ($46)
G4 ($58)
Siete Leguas was my favorite, but you can't go wrong with any of those 3.
And if you want an orange liqueur that will crush Cointreau/Grand Marnier/Triple Sec . . . I highly recommend Paula's Orange Liqueur, made in Austin, Texas. If you can find it, get it. It's by far the best I've ever had.
Tequila can only be grown and distilled in certain specific regions in Mexico and distilleries (NOMS) there must be approved/certified. There is no such animal as a “California tequila.”Somebody convince me to buy a California grown and distilled tequila? Some of them are quite expensive and not very highly rated but I'm not a connoisseur.
I know that they cannot call it tequila the same as champagne must be from the champagne region of France. The reason is related to being official there only by legal rules. Even after all this, there was a recent news story about the California grown agave market being top quality "luxury" tequilas. Some are called Tequila Anejo or just Anejo. It's amazing. I can't believe I just discovered her brand.Don't sleep on the lemon or grapefruit in liqueurs, either. Paula knows what she's doing.
"agave-based spirit" but NOT "tequila."I know that they cannot call it tequila the same as champagne must be from the champagne region of France. FWIW…Caballito Cerero is technically an “agave spirit” simply because the distillery refuses to get certified. They make one of the best tequilas you’ll ever sip. But its made in Mexico using Mexican grown agave."agave-based spirit" but NOT "tequila."
