If these were the only 2 choices as the next head coach, which would you choose?
Neal Brown for me.
Neal Brown for me.
It's a false choice. Neither will ever be Kentucky's head coach. Brohm would not take the job, and Brown will not be offered the job. And until Stoops is actually gone, the job isn't open anyway. If these were the only 2 choices as the next head coach, which would you choose?

Really, starting another thread like this? Wow.If these were the only 2 choices as the next head coach, which would you choose?
Neal Brown for me.
What is your thinking on these 2 statements. I would think Brohm would be crazy not to take a P5 SEC job that he leaves as a multi=millionaire even if he is unsuccessful and why would we not offer the job to Brown? He is a local product and past player who has done well everywhere he has been as a coordinator or head coach. It's a false choice. Neither will ever be Kentucky's head coach. Brohm would not take the job, and Brown will not be offered the job. And until Stoops is actually gone, the job isn't open anyway.
It is highly unlikely that any athletics director would fire a head coach with 19 incumbent starters returning. It's easy for fans to talk about firing the coach, but fans also wanted Brooks fired. Unless the team collapses in October and November, Stoops will be back in 2017. He has to bite the bullet now and replace DJ Eliot. If we don't win in 2017, then that's all for Stoops at Kentucky. A year from now, the list of potential candidates will look much different than it looks now. Neal Brown has enjoyed early success at the level of the Sunbelt Conference. Some fans will say he beat Southern Miss, so they think he is a better coach than Stoops. Good for him. But anything can happen on a given week. Being an SEC head coach means, among other things, having the contacts and influence to put together an SEC staff, and being able to recruit a roster fill of SEC players. Struggling to put together an SEC staff is exactly what has bitten Stoops. Brown has no recruiting contacts in Ohio, Florida. On that score and others, Brown is not ready to be an SEC head coach. Brown is the guy who brought Schlarman, Mainord, Scott to Lexington. Brown is the guy who didn't recognize the need for a dedicated quarterback coach. I'm not saying Brown won't move up from Troy. A Big 12 job could be next. Someone will say coaching in the Big 12 is no different from the SEC, but that is silly based on known facts.I don't think MB does anything this year so that would give more time to look at Brown. In two years it already looks like his team is as good or better than Stoops.
It's a false choice. Neither will ever be Kentucky's head coach. Brohm would not take the job, and Brown will not be offered the job. And until Stoops is actually gone, the job isn't open anyway.
Of course Brohm wants a P5 job. But the Brohm family is 1 of the most anti-UK families in America. Why would a guy with Brohm's successful resume take a job at a struggling school his family has hated since before he was born? That's not likely to happen. Brohm will keep winning at WKU and pick his next opportunity carefully. Neal Brown has started off well at a Sunbelt school. I'm not saying Brown can't coach. He is a student of the game. Brown doesn't have the recruiting contacts or the coaching contacts to handle an SEC head coaching job. If you want a staff composed of guys like Schlarman, Mainord, Scott, and a roster full of prospects with few or no other SEC offers, that's the likely outcome if Brown gets the job. Brown appeals to some fans because he is familiar, and because he beat Southern Miss. That isn't nearly enough. At this point, Barnhart has to shoot higher. What is your thinking on these 2 statements. I have had a good laugh at many of your posts. What makes you laugh has nothing to do with realities of Kentucky sports.lol I needed a good laugh this morning
We've got a coach for the next few years.
It's a false choice. Neither will ever be Kentucky's head coach. Brohm would not take the job, and Brown will not be offered the job. And until Stoops is actually gone, the job isn't open anyway.
You do realize that Neil Brown was hired as OC BEFORE Mark Stoops was hired as head coach by Barnhardt? So if anything, he's probably Mitch's number 1 choice.
Rumors are Brohm would like to stay in state. I think he's definitely an option.
We dont need a coach yet...you guys are gonna feel goofy when we are 5-3 in next month

Neal Brown is my vote!If these were the only 2 choices as the next head coach, which would you choose?

The Brohm's WERE an anti UK family...
Football is a business for them now and Lexington is close to home!
Brohm would take the UK job without question and as long as UK gave him the support that he needed to succeed, he'd probably stay unless a REALLY great job came open...
We need a rock solid hire this go round. Les Miles would be a tremendous hire to lay a decent foundation.
Maybe not a popular choice but what about Charlie Strong? He will be available.
Les Miles would be a shell of his former self when he doesn't have the program prestige to sell or the state of Louisiana as a backyard to recruit. He was barely sustaining LSU, so pardon my skepticism on him building UK.
He's a guy that knows how to win in this conference.
Ok!Yeah, maybe Texas will pay us to take him so we can use that money to lessen the burden of Stoops' buyout.
