North Surry at Elkin

I agree KW. Elkin had an underwhelming performance against Surry Central. Starting the think the staff there isn't going to get the most out of the talent they have.
I'm going based off highlights of North Surry beating us....North Surry QB was dropping dimes
Well we know that with maybe the exception of Starmount and Central, no one in the MVAC has a pass defense.
And that is a maybe...one touchdown pass I saw north Surry QB rolled to left and threw a perfect pass over the shoulder of receiver while he was running. QB can really ball.
Been hearing a lot of good things from the NS community. This is just my opinion but I feel like they have one of the better coaching staffs in the area. Seems like the talent pool has started shifting their way. Spoke to a NS faithfull that said they had a very talented freshman that could bring a lot to their team. He also said they are playing several underclassmen that have an impact on their team. He had big praises for the OC and their passing the ball all over the place. With that said it should be a fairly even match up with Elkin.. I'm going with NS by a couple TD"S
We're not taking Elkin for granted by any stretch.. that's one thing I think that got us last year.
Heading into last year's game we beat North Forsyth in such a rough thriller way in the opener and the kids on last year's team wasn't really 100% focused and healthy going in, and Elkin exploited that. That QB they had was the best player they had since my playing days and he ran that option great all night. 2nd half was just rough, it opened bad and ended bad. On the bright side it opened our eyes and we fixed the OL the next week and the season finished a lot better. The coaches did a great job turning them around last year and are working hard this year as always.
We got some ways to grow still but I honestly like how these kids play. They are quiet but play really hard especially when they get motivated. We gotta bring our A game and come ready to thud both nights.

Think Elkin has a lot to prove this week after under performing against SC. The book is still out on them as to how good they can be. Would not be surprised to see NS take this one to avenge last season, but with That being said My gut is telling me the Elks take this one in a tight one.
