Never thought I would see Fran actually get tossed. He must have really earned it. And then his kid gets T'd up as well.

You would think NW would match much better against Iowa than we do. That was a throttling. I would still rather play NW than see Iowa again.

I think the conference is probably appropriately assessed nationally. A lot of teams in the top 25-45 but few elite teams. There are few elite teams in college basketball. Will be interesting to see how the conference fares in the NCAA tournament. Seems like they will get 8-9 teams in.

We should have a thread to see who can pick the final conference standings from 1-14. You would think things would be more settled with only 4-5 games to go. Even the first four playing is less clear except for the two at the bottom.

One of the most overlooked part of this meat grinder of this confrence is that you catch teams on highs and lows …the timing of that does inpact things for sure

The reality is that it is a net sero sum over a season for everyone (and over seasons , it balances it out ), but within a season, there are some teams that can be “plus 3 or plus 4” of the timing of when they catch them , or up to “minus three or four “ when they catch them

When I go through the season in retrospect …for what’s it worth , RU is probably even or maybe minus one or two

We got Indiana at home the right time
We played OSU at the wrong time
We got Purdue on the road when healthy ar the right time
We got marykand at the right time
We got Iowa at the RAC in desperation mode …wrong time
We got Indiana on the road when they weee hot , wrong time
We got Nebraska on the road when they were hot , wrong time

None of the other 7 games stands out on the timing being very good or very poor

And right now you do not think that is a reasonable projection but would only be sick!
The math says it’s not. I hope it happens, which should be obvious though you insinuate it isn’t. It’s unlikely.

You really are clueless. Games aren’t played in a vacuum without looking at schedules. Did you realize Iowa just had a 3 game home stand and won all 3 and then guess what they got blasted by 20 at Northwestern on the road. ?Did you realize NW just had a 3 game home stand and won all 3 and guess what they end with 3 of 4 on the road ? What math do you use?

Implied win probability. That’s schedule based lmao

our best defenders guard guards ? show your work and include how that worked out against Nebraska.
Show my work? We have a guard who is the reigning "Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year" (McConnell) who happens to be 5th in the country right now in steals per game.

Need more? Three of our guards make up the Big Ten's top 5 players currently in steals per game.
(McConnell #1, Spencer #3, Mulcahy #5).

And if you are going to cite one game out of 27 we've played where they had an off day, than I'll play and cite one game as well... the last time we played Northwestern and our guards held Audige (15ppg) to 12 points, and Buie (17ppg) to 13...a game which we won on the road.

So yes, I stand by my statement that our best defenders are guards, who guard other guards, or do you need me to show more work?

I would think dollar for dollar, the B1G has the best basketball inventory from a media standpont of any league given its balance and almost any team capable of winning any particular game.
