Before the Cats ran out at the beginning of the game, did anybody catch the extended viewtime on the official running in place inside the tunnel to get loose? He knew it was a huuuuuuuuuge game !!! I laughed my a$$ off watching that ..... !! :)

Should have been studying up on what a horse collar is.

IF (pretty unlikely) he is the ONE responsible for watching that part of the play, You might be surprised to know that you see a whole lot more of the game than one official does, for instance the referee probably rarely sees a pass completion, he is still glued to the QB protecting him, the Umpire rarely sees a score unless it is right in front of him, only one or two officials are actually concentrating on the ballcarrier at one time if they are doing their job.

Sure, there is a lot of overlap and they see things outside their area but the blame is hard to assign in a lot of cases. At this level one thing for sure , it wasn't because he didn't know the rule better than you.

That being said, absolutely a terrible miss of an obvious call a couple should have caught, maybe they blinked their eyes or a 300# lineman was in the way or knocking them down, or maybe there was an alternation that distracted him..

Some of you (a few) should try officiating, very challenging but a lot of fun also.
