Can't even shop in Lincoln anymore during the game, nobody cares to watch, stores are all busy. I still hold fans show respect to coaches and players because it will be hard to bring in a decent coach and recruiting class if fans are redneck and stupid about this season. Deal with it, we will have something new next year.

I agree, this is the new low. And there have been plenty of lows that preceded this.

It starts with losing to KSU for the first time in 40 years. Then the blowout at Colorado. Then a couple of more blowouts. Then a .500 season. Then a losing season. Then more blowouts. More and more blowouts. Now we're hoping only to avoid embarrassment in big games. More blowouts. Then some closer than you'd think games against FCS and Sun Belt teams. More blowouts. Never winning games of substance. More blowouts. And now, losing to a MAC team.

The Nebraska football program you loved is dead. You now love a mediocre program. Mediocre in a good year.

Upsets happen but the way we played on offense especially leaves lots to be desired! I figured this game would suck because of injuries and sickness going around but I never saw a loss coming.

Not really a surprise. Fire him? Who really cares anymore? Sad day in Husker football.
I told you guys when we hired Riley that we would see him with his arms crossed and head down so low you can't see his eyes. Well are you guys tired of that look yet

I've been a Riley supporter this entire time, even at what seemed our low points. Now this is low of the lows and my support of Riley is starting to waiver...
I have been a big Riley supporter.

I am no longer.

This loss was ugly and inexcusable. It is a new low for Husker football. There is clearly something deeply wrong with our program.

Mike Riley should be let go.

This was an ugly, painful, humiliating loss. But I don't know. Southern Miss 2004 (when we ironically lost 21-17 at home) with terrible QB play from wunderkind Joe Dailey running out of bounds on 4th down was pretty awful. The Texas Tech stomping in Lubbock was pretty awful. Okie State 2007 leading 38-0 at half was pretty awful. Wisconsin 2014 400 yard game. 2007 Kansas having 76 hung on us. Honestly this is the not the worst loss or lowest point for Nebraska. It is bad, but not the lowest. Plus this year has the ability to get worse because where are the remaining wins?

Tough day for a husker fan. No o-line no running game and receivers that can catch the ball. Next Saturday I will put on my red watch the game win or lose. After words I will go about my day and hope we can just get better.

When Callahan was showing us his poor coaching and the embarrassment piled up during his tenure - I always thought we could rebound with a new coach

When Pelini was putting out embarrassing losses each year. I took solace in the fact we won 9 games a year and thought talent wise we were still above average if only a coach could come in here and correct a few things

This is officially the low point for me - the talent is not getting better sorry the coaching is horrible on both sides of the ball and we are now so far removed from the great teams of the past our history and tradition no longer matters - I fear we have shot well past Iowa on the way down and may soon be battling Illinois for last place in the conference

Today is the lowest I'd say but other low moments for me were:

2001- Colorado
2004 - Texas Tech 70-10 loss...Not making a bowl
2007 - Entire season after the USC loss
2012 - Wisconsin, humiliated in CCG.
2014- Iowa, Bo throwing tantrums
2016 - Ohio State 60-3 loss..

Every Saturday I hold onto hope until the game has been won or lost.

I want Riley to succeed but You know as well as I, Eichorst made a bad hire when the Coach you hire is going to be fired by the previous program.
There's absolutely no proof that Oregon St was going to fire Riley. In fact I bet they'd rather have Riley right now than Anderson.

That is not what I heard in Eugene last week...

You have no proof that he wasn't ...They were going to let him resign or he was going to be let go.

Yes, there is. It was reported in an Oregon newspaper. He was 2-13 in his last 15 conference games or something like that. He should have been fired.

That was In a coach's first year.

This is year 3.

Coming off a loss. This should have been a blowout.
Slight Correction.
That was in BO's 1st year as a Head Coach
This is Coach Riley's 30th year since becoming a Head Coach in 1987.

Why is anyone surprised. Coach Riley, nice as he is, had a .537 winning pct at Oregon St. thru 14 seasons.
He's actually upped his game here at Nebraska, winning at a .622% clip.

For the first time ever, I think I'm going to plan something else to do next Saturday. Maybe it'll be a good time to take my kids to the zoo. Surely it won't be as busy as it would be when the Huskers are not playing, right? Maybe other families are starting to think the same thing. At any rate, I believe the sellout streak is nearing its end. Not sure why anyone would bother showing up for the Ohio State game. I expect another 50+ point blow out for that one. We might not even be able to get by Rutgers! Every game is lose-able now.
