A picture of Adam Sandler taking a bath is not how I would have kicked off a website. But it all worked out anyway.
To explain - in that scene he says "Stop looking at me Swan" which is what we called Gene back in the day. We had people telling us of what he was saying. He even called us gnats.

The reason being each time you mention them, that just promotes their message board. I haven't been over there in a few weeks but when I did visit, I remember they always talked about how they could find ways to promote their message board. Each time you mention anything about them, that's helps them accomplish their purpose. In the large scheme of things,these guys are nothing more than nuisances like little gnats.
Mine says '08 but it was way before that. I can't remember if it changed during one of the board changes or when I changed my name or when.
My wife asked me maybe a month ago how often I checked the SPS Board and I told her "oh maybe once a week just to see if there's any interesting topics being discussed, and I NEVER post anything, just lurk and read........"
Gene was so plugged in and in the know that he came over and sat next to me at the Hump one night when I was in Grad school and talked for five minutes thinking I was Wes Shivers the whole time.
Do you think he misspelled gnats and considered the group to be more like something he might be familiar with. nuisances like little nuts.
When something of global importance and non-sports related happens, my wife asks what I’ve read about it on the pack.
