A couple of young women have written a book touting a bucket list of things to do in Mississippi before you die. I looked it over and they listed some good stuff, like fried chicken at Lorman, tamales at Doe’s Eat Place, etc. One of the things they listed was yell Hoddy Toddy at the Grove at Ole Miss. I guess I am going to the grave with 99 things accomplished. Hail State!!

No matter what you do, if you have not put your hands a 50 Cal Machine Gun or a Mark19 Grenade launcher and squeezed the trigger, have not felt what it feels like to bench pressed 315 pounds then you have not lived.

The Grove is a pretty unique experience as long as you’re wearing neutral colors. Their true nature comes out if you’re wearing maroon or probably any opposing team colors. It’s perfectly acceptable to yell Hobby Lobby.

Only 315? Bi tch
I max at 395 right now. I can rep out 345 five times. I am 60 years old. I have hit 420 when I was younger just the facts today are 315 is the new 225. The 225 the NFL uses in the combine is candy *** ********.

Most of us press 315 just getting out of the recliner to go get some more Cheetos! I’ve never had the opportunity to shoot a 50 but I did get an afternoon at a gun range in Las Vegas shooting an assortment of full auto weapons from WW2 to present. My hands down favorite was the German Shmiser. That was a sweet gun.

I have never used anything. I have always been all natural. I live my religion. I don't do drugs or alcohol. I get accused of doing TRT, but I don't do that either. My son wants me to go to doctor and get on it just to see how big I could get a gain at my age. My pre work out is two Advel, an 8.4 oz red bull and one bottle of Yoo Hoo. I go six days a week. I have been working out six days a week since I was 15 years old. Only time I could not work out was when I was deployed while in the Marine Corps. Even then we tried to find a way. It's part of my life. I am not as big as I use to be but still weight in at 235 and have a 36-inch waist.

Can you flex as hard in the gym as you do on the internet?

I don't flex in the gym. I wear long sleeve T shirt, warmups and just work out. I don't try to impress anybody, but you called me out by calling me a *****. But if you question me, you are welcome to come work out with me. I will pay for the workout. I will make it a light day. There are a few posters on this message board who could confirm. I know you were joking when you called me a *****. You seem like a good guy.

I'm not even going to that campus unless I just ride by and yell GTHOM !
You're depriving yourself of one of the greatest joys a State fan can experience, a leisurely walk back to your car with a smile on your face after the Egg Bowl dressed in Maroon with a bunch of pissed off candy boys stalking around unable to say a damn thing.

You ok? You strangely inserted your exercise prowess into a thread about things to do in MS. I made a joke about 315 being light weight. We all understand 315 is not light weight and you are strong. Normally you pickup jokes as well as you do weights. Take a lap… well, you probably don’t do cardio.

There’s nothing like being spit on by a 70 year old woman with spilt wine on her Hotty Totty sweatshirt.

My son and I went to a game during Fitzgerald senior year at Ole Miss. He told me he never wanted to go back, and this was after the *** whipping Fitz put on them.

Might have been the same game. My brother is an OM grad, the rest of the family are State people. He married into a State Family. We were at Waffle House after that game and he looks at all of us and says “ I get it, I now know why everyone hates OM”.

Thats not true. There are no neutral colors for them. Used to go to the liberty bowl when we got free tix. OM fans are flat ******** to you if you cannot be readily identified as a rabble fan.

I used to bench 315 for 20 reps with my feet on the bench. Firing a 50 and Mk 19 are on my bucket list. Unfortunately the govt won't let us ordinary civilians play with the toys. I did get to watch them test fire the gun on a F15 after it was replaced.

I have a friend that is from Pensacola, that married an Ole Miss grad. Her family has a tailgate at every home game, and he told me he understands why we hate them so much. He only goes once a year. He says these people turn into monsters, and outside the grove her family is very normal. It is keeping up with the Joneses.

I'm guessing that the bucket list of things to do in MS for a couple of "young women" is vastly different than the bucket list for a cranky old fvcker like me. I'll save my money and time and pass on this one
Did that have anything about the one leg stripper around Laurel or Hattiesburg? I think it was on this board or T&L I learned of this tradition.

I’ve done the 50 cal, mk19, and 315. I’ll see you and raise you by entering VH stadium through the ole miss locker room, onto the field and into the stands while wearing an MSU polo with a HS recruit badge as a college sophomore before an egg bowl kickoff

ok, Let's see here my best friend in high school was being recruited by Alabama. Bama was playing ole miss in Jackson. He was invited to the game by Bama and was allowed to bring a friend. His pass got him on the Bama sideline. I got the same pass. I stood on the Alabama sideline during a game with Bear Bryant. Obviously could not get that close and stay out of the way but I was there.

Very accurate description. Monsters is a perfect representation.

I shot a portajon with an M2 Browning at the Camp Shelby range. I was drilling with the USMCR and they had placed it behind a tank silhouette. The Gunny sited me in, caused a fired as well, fun day.

I guess I was half there. Got to see the Grooooooove in all its glory in 1995 for Homecoming against Vandy with some friends who were there. First and only trip to the campus, and it affirmed my decision that they 17ing suck. I did NOT HYDR, tho I did wear a blazer and a tie.

It was a fun and memorable trip, it only because it proved my lifelong disdain for them to be warranted. And we got to hang with some hot chicks.
