Severson once again made another mind numbing pass right onto a Flyers stick who then went in unmolested on Vanacek & beat him for the Flyers second goal in a 2-1 Flyers win. Severson needs to see the bench period. Can't trust the guy out there with the puck on his stick.

Always telling everyone what to do. I don't ever see him interacting with teammates, always 1 sided. When he scores he rarely acknowledges teammates

In Rangers news:

Gallant finally decided to give the second power play unit a full minute, which tesulted in a Kakko to Laf to Chytil goal.

The Rangers’ first line is invisible, so you either have to believe that Panarin and Zibanejad who play together beautifully on the power play have no chemistry at even strength, or Gallant is an idiot for playing Goodrow as their RW. My vote is obvious.

Also on that second PP unit was Kravstov, which was interesting.

5 game win streak, including wins against 2 first place teams and the defending Cup champs. Now we have two games in a row against Philly & Chicago — two cellar dwellers so we’ll probably scratch 1 point out of 4 there.

Yeah Kravstov kept the playing going before the goal. Blais there instead would have been too busy looking for someone to hit and the puck would have been cleared.

I was being facetious to your very dumb question.
Question is not dumb at all. It is a major concern of mine having him as our franchise player.

Obviously you disagree. I think chemistry is very important.

I could be wrong here, but I don't think I am.

It's 100% idiotic. I've not heard even a peep of any people disliking him, I mean WTF?

Of course chemistry is important, but your assertion is completely fabricated.

A team with far less talent punched them in the mouth and the devils lost 2 of 3 to flyers. Need Palat back , Hughes can’t be making great passes to Haula . How long into season will they say he’s just been unlucky ??? The team is full of good to very good players. Haula has been eh but there is no one off top of my head that NEEDS to go. You’re going to have to give a some to get a some. A Chicago writer had article with 3 Patrick Kane trades Blackhawks can make with devils. The Devils will be thrown into a ton of trade deadline rumors because of Hughes and Semec waiting in the wings.

This is probably a nicer way to put it but yeah.
Observation. Are you really going to hear people publicly saying they don’t like the guy?

Just watch him and how he and his teammates interact.

Yes last night players took exception when Koneckny went after him, but that is something that has to be done.

Trust me I want to be wrong here. He is very talented and a difference maker.

How much value do you think Sharangovic and Holtz and Bahl and Boquist would have for teams like Chicago

I don’t follow hockey, until recently, as much as the other sports.

Is Severson as good as gone because his contract will be needed to be included in any trade that brings back high contract players?

Let's hope that Severson is as good as gone.

He's very short & curt when interviewed between periods or after games. Can't wait to be out of there.

Which I'm not a fan of. You're a star player, play the role, and this is from someone who has little interest in player interviews.

That said, I don't think that translates into being a lockerroom issue. If anything, a common theme from Hughes in getting out of interviews quickly is his desire to get back to the locker room.

Jack Hughes has enormous talent.

Do you think he is liked by his teammates? He seems like it is all about him.

I haven't really noticed that myself, but to be honest I know I would be too if I were in his shoes. 95% of the questions these guys get are so stupid and devoid of substance, I'm surprised more of them don't lose their patience. When he was asked what they need to do to be more consistent after winning 9 straight, I was glad to see him throw it right back with, "I mean we're on a 9-game heater so I'd say we're doing okay." I think he just isn't a great public speaker. His rookie year I told my buddies we should take a drink every time he says "obviously" during an interview. We quickly realized we'd end up in the ER if we were to actually play that game. At least he seems to have gotten better at that. Personally I don't really care how his interviews go, he's here to play hockey not to be a PR guy.

K’Andre Miller with one of the nicest goals you’ll ever see. Tripped on a breakaway, got up, recovered, and scored anyway. Almost definitely would have been a penalty shot.

Law of averages catching up with Devils. Offense lacking as of late and they desperately need physicality.

Rangers playing very well.

There's talk of expanding regular season to 84 games which they should do.

Thus regular season would be as follows:

In Division: 7 teams * 4 games each = 28
In Conference : 8 teams * 3 games each = 24
Other Conference: 16 teams *2 games each = 32

Total games = 84

It's a joke in division you play some teams only 3 times - a la Rangers vs Islanders this year. Terrible !

I’m interested in hearing what the Devils’ fans think of Hischier’s hit on Barkov.

I thought it was a real dirty play and deserves a suspension, but who knows what punishment the Dept of Player Safety’s “Wheel of Justice” will land on.

I thought the one a while back from Pasta in the Bruins game was pretty bad too. But I don't think anything became of that one?

I've always been skeptical about K'Andre's game but I'm quickly coming around on him.

Trouba has been so bad, it is hard to tell how good Miller is, being saddled with him.

I would like to see Miller given an extended run with Schneider to see their chemistry and maybe that would allow Miller to attack a little more as well.

They are extremely soft
Lose their biggest dude to injury and they fold.

I was at the game vs islanders and was embarrassed to wear a Devils shirt when I saw the islanders physically dominate the Devils.

Looked clear to me he lost his balance on the faceoff and was falling forward.
