Krup, you can point to any analytic you like with Laf.
He’s slow as molasses, can’t shoot, can’t stick handle and can’t control the puck.
He stinks period end!!!
He will NEVER come into his own because he can’t do anything.
The numbers are what they are, but don’t get me wrong, if trading Lafreniere means it is more likely they keep Chytil, Kakko and Kravstov, I want them on the phone now seeing what they could get,

And, there are teams who value the analytics more than others, so adding that to the rep the Rangers have for mishandling forward prospects and they could probably get someone to give them a decent prospect in an area of more need.

The Devils simply suck

they will finish around Philly and be eliminated with months left in the season

9 straight home losses is a joke

You guys who believe in the team are getting suckered. They ain’t going anywhere again.

They’ll be fine. Relax.

Can’t blame the kid for putting a guy out for 3 on 3 with no skills…he didn’t put himself out there.
Kakko can carry and possess, so can Trochek

Kid is a ****ing rock star. And he's ours.

I’m shocked you don’t see similar skill set in Laf…He’s really good at skating in sand!!!
Laf has to be the only 1st overall pick ever immediately told he needs to work on his skating and speed.
Even without those two things he could be elusive or have a great shot, or really strong on puck…not
Beating a dead horse, sorry men

I've been in the "he's gonna get it and break through eventually" camp for a while, but am really losing patience.

You can see the impact Kakko has on the game without looking at the stat sheet. With LAf, except for today when he gets taken out of the play on the GWG, you don't.

He’s invisible because outside of an occasional chip of the puck to a teammate, or lucky bounce off the wall that allows him to play the puck to the point…he literally does nothing.
In three yeas he hasn’t read a pass in the defensive zone that’s allowed him to break free and carry the puck…incredible!
I don’t believe any first division team could possibly use him since relentless pursuit of the puck is prerequisite.
Can you imagine him fitting into the Hurricanes puck pressure, he wouldn’t see the light of day with them

Ruff needs to wake up should be the next step, his answer tonight on why he continually sticks Haula with Jack didn't make any sense.

For example he should have gone with Palat - Hughes - Holtz tonight.

And Haula should be nowhere near the ice when you pull your goalie.
Think Saringovich should see more ice time.

When I saw the pass I was worried that it was one of the young players, because we might not see them again.

Goodrow will get rewarded for that idiotic pass with MORE ice time because moron Gallant will want his experience on the ice in a close game (never mind that he is the one who made it close).
I hate to reply to my own post but I can’t help pointing out how predictable that moron Gallant is.

As I wrote, not only did Goodrow NOT lose any ice time for making that idiotic pass for the Devils first goal, he was rewarded by being moved up to the first line to replace Kakko when Gallant benched Kakko for the slashing penalty that led to the Devils 2nd goal (and Goodrow proceeded to be on the ice for the Devils 3rd goal).

They have to fire Gallant before he can screw with any other prospects the Rangers bring in next year like Othmann.

I like when a coach demands accountability, but you're absolutely right here. If you are using benching to prove a point, you have to be willing to use it through the entire lineup.

That pass by Goodrow was to the middle of the ice all the way back to our blueline AND he split the defenders for Hughes. If you can't see anything, throw it forward into the corner and regroup. That was a much larger miscue than what Kakko did.

After Quinn, I had hope with Gallant, but the future is here, we need someone who can lead them.

To Zappaa's earlier points, how can a guy who can't navigate 3 on 3 hockey, be trusted to carry the puck at 5 on 5. It would be our luck that the one year we get a first overall pick it would be someone like him; not impressed.

In today’s reminder of what an idiot Gerard Gallant is, and how bad the Rangers are at handling young players…

Julien Gauthier has as many goals at even strength as Mika Zibanejad, and more than Vincent Trocheck, but:
  • He has been healthy scratched for 11 games this year (more than a quarter of the games).
  • When he does play, he averages getting less than 9 minutes of ES ice time ( 6 minutes less than Mika and Trocheck get).
Meanwhile Sammy Blais has zero goals this year (or last), is so bad that he has an expected goal total of only 2.2 this year, but has only been scratched for 6 games and gets more ES ice time than Gauthier.

Nice goal by Miller. Used the body with a swim move.

Tough to switch back and forth between the Rangers and the Devils with a ESPN+ game for one. 👎

For the first time since 2001, the NJD come back again from multigoals down 3-1 down, to win 5-3.

Two game stretch that could propel them forward into the playoffs.

Miller is so underrated because unlike all of the other top defensemen in the league he gets little power play time. He ranks around 10th in the NHL in even strength points for defensemen.

Only a moron like Gallant would be using Trouba and his wild, ineffective, slap shots to quarterback a power play unit instead of Miller.

#13 at left wing with Mika and Kappo, replacing a dinged Kreider.
That means top checking line and 1st pair D men.
Outside of a lucky bounce to play the puck I say he’ll be invisible.
Kakko better replace Krieds on first PP or it’s a crime

If he doesn't truly seize this opportunity, you'd have to think his days here are numbered.
None of what you've stated here has been proven to be untrue; i.e. skating, stickhandling or play in traffic. He is mostly invisible, and I have a hard time believing his coaches are seeing more upside than we have.

FWIW, Duguay is also of the opinion his game is not where it needs to be.

Hopefully Gallant doesn’t starting mixing things up at the first sign of adversity and sticks with this for a bit if Kreider is out a while.

You can’t easily bench some of guys in front of Lafrenière, so this injury better be used as a “no excuses” chance to get the information needed to make the final decision on him.
