Ah...thanks. Always thought it was at Bell labs, MH. I always wondered why it was on display in Holmdel and not (where I thought the discovery was made), Murray Hill

My Dad who is now deceased worked there in the 70s and eventually retired from Lucent after 30 years with the company

My father worked for bell labs in holmdel after rutgers rotc and Korea and eventually retired from bellcore I think it was called at 57.

Is there anything left of Bell Labs in Middletown/Red Bank/Holmdel, or all gone?

Nothing left but the memory of the origin of The Big Bang Theory (not the hit TV series)

Father-in-law worked in the longlines building in Manhattan after the Army, was transferred to Holmdel the first week it opened.... moved to Eatontown... had kids (he loves to tell stories how the Bell Labs in-house baker made great sheet cakes)...... one of his kids eventually became my wife......
