McDonald's burgers are awful (breakfast is ok)
They aren't cheap either
For the cost of a Little Mac, I can get takeout at local restaurant where they grind their own Angus beef for big burgers.
I've also been wondering what happened to bread.
I stopped buying bread in grocery stores (local bakeries are gone) because they have no flavor .
Locally I know the lunch crowd has chnaged.
Hispanic workers dont like McDonald's
They like bigger sit-down meals with soup, rice and chicken etc - not too crazy about bread and pizza (they call it "glue").
Lunch is their big meal and not dinner
There are a great many Hispanic delis that serve the meals and they are considerably cheaper than burger joints.
McDonald's (Mickey D's) has a more urban vibe and I tend to see them more in cities compared to BK

I rarely find myself at the burger chains anymore. My kids always defer to chick filet. I don't think the value is what it used to be at any of the fast food chains cause I am always so surprised at my bill. But the service at chick filet is so vastly better than other places it is hard not to notice.

I rarely hit Burger King but will hit one after skiing if I am in a rush to get home. Nothing like a flame broiler Whopper (Beaced knows this). I think they suffer since their chicken nuggets and sandwiches are horrible. They had a good one in the Chi'King, but stopped making it. My guess is because their owner also owns Popeye's and it was a competitor. If I get fast food it's usually CFA or Wendy's (but even Wendy's is gone to sh*t now). McDonald's is expensive and garbage. The one by me is always empty so not sure how they stay in business.

If McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's all disappeared it wouldn't bother me at all. Foods horrible and horrible for you. And no longer a bargain/value, prices are insane for that crap.
No doubt. It shouldn't cost $12+ a person for fast food under any circumstances. Their food is all garbage anyway. I can make a 100x better burger myself and probably healthier as well by using 93/7 lean beef instead of 80/20.

Haven't had a fast food meal in probably over 20 years. Horrible macros. Tons of saturated fat, carbs, and who even knows what is in their special sauce-probably a terrible seed oil.

I might get a Whopper Junior on occasion but have noticed the restaurants have seemed rundown and really sparse crowds lately

Other chains that qualify for the Do Not Enter list:

Chilis
Outback Steakhouse
Ruby Tuesdays
Applebees
Longhorn Steakhouse
Perkins Pancakes
My God Longhorn and Outback both must bid on the cows that pulled the cart. As for McDonald’s and Burger King, I like the idea once in a blue moon and then quickly remember the results of why once in a blue moon.

When the government along with folks on the Left mandate a $15+ hourly rate for fast food workers you have to pay for it. This didn't happen in a vacuum. Semi-literate FF workers think that making fries should be a career and the political opportunist on the Left happily supported them for their votes. Enjoy your inflation.

I still hit them up but 90% of the time I just get two cheeseburgers and a small coke, the other 10% is usually McNuggets.

But it hits my craving while I don't overload on the junk food.

EDIT - keep getting 403-forbidden, what's going on here?

I have been getting the forbidden message again too. Hope it doesn’t have anything to do with craving fast food.

Not Burger King, but the government seriously needs to do more to regulate Big Food and redo the macros on the FDA MyPlate. This is sad:

Was always a McDonald's guy, probably because that was the first fast food place in our town. In HS, on Fridays my mom would bring me a Mickey D's dinner on her way home from work: 2 quarterpounders with cheese, 2 large fries and a large vanilla shake. I still enjoy McD's occasionally and generally still eat the 1/4-pounder and fries (yes, I like their burgers); I also like their sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits for breakfast once in awhile. However, I probably now go to White Castle more often than McD's and I also enjoy the occasional stop at chick-fil-a or White Rose. I probably have about 1 fast food meal a week and have zero worries about that.

Taco Bell on the move - new shops popping-up all over
Three tacos and a large soda for around 7.50
I like Salsa Fresca more but there is only one in my area

Wouldn't that mean ALL FF joints would be closing their doors?

Bread has no taste because it takes time for the dough to rise when you use yeast, which is what gives bread flavor. Businesses want to crank out loaves as quickly as possible so they use chemical rising agents like baking soda instead, which leads to fluffy but tasteless bread.

I grew up in Wayne. In the 70s, we had a Roy Rogers and a Hardees which are both long gone. Loved Hardee's equivalent to a big Mac and Roy's roast beef sandwiches. Both places had decent fries as I recall. I used to dip the my fries at Roy in their BBQ Sauce and Horseradish sauce.

For the last 20 years or so, if I have any fast food it might be once a month or so. That said... when I did stroll into a BK some years back what they offered kinda shocked me... too much selection. It was sad.. McDs seemed.. up-to-date maybe?,, while BK was just old and tired and trying too hard.

As for burger taste.. Wendys rules for many decades now.. Roy Rogers used to compete. I do not count the new guys in the biz.. smashburger, in&out etc... just like how I wouldn't compare older fast food to, say, Johnny Rockets

IMO, BK could have gone the other way.. strip down the offerings and say.. "You can have anything you want as long as it is 1 or 2 small flame-broiled burger patties on baked-daily fresh rolls with or without cheese and fixins with a side of fries or onion rings fried in beef tallow.. and real milkshakes and soft drinks.". That is all they make, all they sell... all you can order. I might actually try that place... as long as I can get the paper crown too.

The point he was making was that BK was shutting down due to higher mandated wages.
I'm sure it has nothing to with the quality of their product or the service people are getting. Funny I never have read Chick-fil-A closings in the same areas. Quality product and great service and all employees get Sunday off.
