The founder is playing Defense so that he dies t get sued. He’s obviously smarter than Stroud. Lol

You know it’s getting near the draft when these stories and anonymous quotes about specific players emerge.

If anyone is planting a malicious rumor, it wouldn't be a team --it would be an agent for another player (probably a QB) hoping to better his player's draft position by trying to worse Stroud's.

For years the Wonderlic test was supposed to be a big deal to some when judging QB intelligence
24 was considered the average score
Tom Bradly scored a 33, Eli Manning 39 while he brother scored 28.
The Wonderlic test , it was said, had some teams pass on QBs that scored poorly and jumped on those that did well.
Some of the poor ones turned out pretty good:
15 — Dan Marino, Donovan McNabb, Jim Kelly, Terry Bradshaw

Way back in the early 1970s before the Steelers started their Super Bowl run, the team had three quarterbacks: Joe Gilliam, Terry Bradshaw, and Terry Hanratty. The joke in PIttsburgh was that the Steelers had one QB who could pass; one who could run; and one who could think. Bradshaw was *not* considered the one who could think.

Edit: by the way, I could do pretty well on the Wonderlic test -- but you sure don't want me quarterbacking your team! I believe Milt Plum, a journeyman, holds the record for best score.

I always thought Wonderlic was a legit useful test that's only being dropped for same reasons algebra and advanced courses were dropped.

QB is a much more analytical position than most people realize.
I only know it from going to HS games with a friend who was pro QB for 8 years
Prime Sanders knows about the same things and recently stated the QB recruits he looks for

Qualities sought:

"Well, we have different attributes. Smart, tough, fast, disciplined with character. Now, quarterbacks are different," Sanders told Eisen last week. "We want mother, father. Dual parent. We want that kid to be 3.5 [GPA] and up. Because he has to be smart. Not bad decisions off the field, at all. Because he has to be a leader of men.

Sanders said he looks for similar attributes in offensive linemen, but his criteria are different for the defensive side of the football.

"Defensive linemen is totally opposite. Single mama, trying to get it, he’s on free lunch," Sanders continued. "I’m talking about just trying to make it. He’s trying to rescue mama. Like mama barely made the flight. And I want him to just go get it.

"It’s a whole different attribute that you look for in different positions. And we have that stuff just chronicled. We know what we want, and we go get it."

QB smarts are a must
Fitzpatrick had a 17yr career with 9 teams
Scoring a 49 on Wonderlich helped when Fitz went to new teams and picked things up well enough to start soon.
Vince Young on the other hand had a 6 that was upgraded to a 16.
Prime would not have drafted him

I think Dan Marino scored like 13 on the Wonderlic test. That is really low. Of course he is in the NFL HOF now.

Ryan Fitzpatrick (who went to Harvard) scored a 48 out of 50 on the wonderlic which is the highest score by a qb ever. Interestingly enough, the only guy to ever score a perfect 50 was a punter in the 70’s named Pat Mcinally who also graduated from Harvard

Ironically the lowest score by a notable player who actually made it in the league? Frank Gore from Miami, scored a 6.

Morris Claiborne the former corner for the cowboys and jets scored even lower, but he had known dyslexia and was given a bit of leeway.

Cautiously optimistic that Titans will draft a QB, but I prefer Paris Johnson or JSN

That was from Hollywood Henderson of the Dallas Cowboys in the days leading to Super Bowl X. But you'll rememberit was the Steelers who won, with Bradshaw throwing two touchdown passes, with the second being on a play where Bradshaw was knocked out of the game with a concussion.

Mcinally was also an All-Ivy WR. Played in the old preseason College All-Star where the top rookies played the NFL Super Bowl Champion where he suffered a broken leg catching TD pass. During the practices before the game he got some friendly razzing about Harvard football. Once he was asked: "Hey Harvard, what did your defensive line average?" The response: "About 3.6."

Yes I remember it well. Terry was a great QB who won all 4 SB's he was the QB.

An Eagles blogger that I read had a post up the other day titled "Lying Season". From that post:
With the draft just days away, there are all kinds of interesting reports floating around. One or two might be true, but most are items being fed to the media by people with agendas.

Bottom line don't believe anything that leaked during the 2 weeks leading up to the draft.

Stroud will be the first player picked. Bookmark this and roast me if I’m wrong.
Honoring the request. 😁

Mediocre year for QBs.
This is like watching Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield 2.0
