The article does say they will continue to offer the TV channel. They'd lose too many viewers at this point and probably the next 5-10 years.

^^^ This ^^^

The stupidest thing they could do would be to remove themselves from cable. Someone would come along to fill the void and make them irrelevant.

Mentioned this in the stock thread. It’s an expected move but timing isn’t clear.I’m curious about the price point and I’m thinking it will likely be ad supported.

They’re not leaving the cable bundle any time soon. I say this all the time. You reach people where they are and having a foot in both worlds is fine for now.

The full headline in the Wall Street Journal is "ESPN Plans to Stream Flagship Channel, Eyeing Cable TV's Demise." (I've "gifted" the article, so it shouldn't be behind a pay wall - if it is, let me know and I will summarize it.) https://www.wsj.com/articles/espn-l...il&utm_campaign=newsletter_axiosam&stream=top
The last act of a desperate channel. Footage of ESPN's flagship streaming:

I used to love ESPN, I would watch it all the time. Now never watch it unless it’s a live sporting event. They are a sports channel and mixed to many things other then sports into there content. It’s unwatchable now for me
