It was quite interesting to say the least.........for the most part they place was filthy with the exception of the hotel complex I stayed in.......Was there on 4 different occasions.
Been to Beijing 3 times for work. Hated it. And I like to travel and experience different places.

So the conclusion is a certain alignment of government always gives one a bad result. But they might not be the same.

I was trying to find the picture, but back in the 1960s, there was a large fire in Spring Lake (it was in the Borough public works yard, I think). There was a picture on social media showing trees on the same side of the street as the fire, with kids in the trees watching the firefighters fight the fire. There had to be like 10-20 kids. Nobody got hurt, and they all likely lives happy, healthy and long lives.
And probably smoked cigarettes for 40 years after.

Oh no! We're all gonna die - unless we smoke, it which case purposefully injecting smoke into our lungs is just fine.
I don’t know screw. I smoke a cigar i feel fine. I walk outside today and my eyes tear and my lungs and throat are irritated. To each his own I guess.

From a respected MD and Professor at UCSF:

That said, the experts can pontificate all they want about generalities and how things will affect people generally. All that matters for each person is n=1, where n=yourself. Nothing else matters. See this type of thing with diet and exercise experts pontificating what to do to lose weight. In the end, what works for you is the best intervention.

Or worried about liability litigation if you get a sore throat.
If they were worried about liability they would have sent home the young lady tending bar with a window to the outside and door constantly open - no mask for her, no doors and windows being sealed.

Like drag queens.

Hey keep you private life to yourself sweetie. And can you be a drag queen if you're trussed up in leather? (I've seen your pics back when you posted a link to them, remember?)

Oh and back then you kept your drag shows to the ghettos you lived in, not elementary schools, groomer.

NY gives out free crack pipes but also thinks they need to protect folks from a forest fire's smoke from Canada? How about telling the crack folks to use a N95 mask between them and the pipe? Nooooo that would be racist or something.

Seems like you're obsessed over pictures of me but I don't want to know if you touch yourself. That's gross. Now go waddle over to the donut stand, fat boy.

I’m guessing your baseline on this is a little different than most folks. 😁
Not sure what the paid guys do who see action weekly, if not daily, but see lots of firefighters who don't wear their air packs during overhaul, when the fire is mostly out but still smoldering.

Ya know, nobody has said you have to do anything. There's an ongoing conversation as to whether there's any benefit from N95s in the presence of heavy smoke. Some people achieve a personal comfort level in believing that there is.

This doesn't affect you in any way, nor should it, IMO, inspire anyone to mock the entire conversation.

This is a classic example of the classic flowchart, i.e. "Does it affect me?" --> "No" --> WGAF

That said, I'm hearing from many people, very good very smart people, that these Canadian wildfires were caused by China and Hunter Biden is behind the entire thing.

It does affect others. First of all, its taxpayer-funded waste. As a conservationist, it's offensive to see the government taking resources, wasting them, and the result is N95s in the gutters and along the sidewalks everywhere, ultimately filling up the landfills needlessly.

On a societal level, we are pack creatures. We follow the herd. If the herd is misled, it is prone to irrational bad behavior. Everyone in the group is subjected to the results of that. There are many, and if you didn't learn that lesson over the last 3 years, you never will.

Who said anything about government? Nowhere did I suggest that the government should be doling out masks for smoke conditions.

Was right with you and what I said agrees with what you said until until the last two lines. n=1. Do what's best for yourself from your own personal situation, perceived impact on your health and well-being, and your comfort level. There was no mockery in my post.

As far Dr. Prasad, he has strong opinions. I did not see what he said as mocking any particular person. He was questioning the necessity of mass mask distribution.

Tomorrow night’s Cousin Brucie show at the PNC Arts Center has already been postponed
Yup. I did not know he was still alive. All kidding aside, elderly people and those with respiratory issues may be better off not being outside for extended periods of time.
