Yep, I was told that only 3 teams have a shot. One of those teams lost to an uninvited squad.Dean has looked better in the Iowa room but what happened to Bailey?? He’s looked nothing like the wrestler that took 4th his freshman year.
And Ayala and Kennedy, two battle tested seniors, taking upset losses were surprising.
Insane dual, kinda funny how iowa state didn’t get an invite to the paycom thing..
I think maybe Enchemedia has probably jumped levels and is a possibility a national title contender. Apparently the Iowa heavyweight Keuter was hurt before his match and isn't a 100%.The Iowa State heavyweight looked tough, but I think Feldman from Ohio St. is gonna take it this year. Was really impressed how the Rider transfer Isaac Dean wrestled the younger Ferrari.Super tough defense. If he can refine his offense, and cardio, he could easily get on the podium this year. Was not impressed with Paniro Johnson.Too busy dancing around and juking, and patient Ryder Block capitalized on it.Kid who beat Kennedy looked tough and wrestled a very smart match, but I don't see him getting on the podium.Too much of a risk taker. Elam is a the real deal.He made Endene look like an amateur. Again, it's early in the season.I hoping to see Dean Peterson get on that podium. He looked great and pretty jacked up.If he puts it together, he can definitely high AA.Dean has looked better in the Iowa room but what happened to Bailey?? Enchemedia def has but Mendez is winning the title this year.. I think mendez’s TF over Bailey broke his confidence.I think maybe Enchemedia has probably jumped levels and is a possibility a national title contender. Frost didn't weigh in he wasn't available. Look for him at CKLVEnchemedia def has but Mendez is winning the title this year.. I think mendez’s TF over Bailey broke his confidence.
Not sure how Paniro got his 2nd ranking(damn 149 is weak) but think Dresser shoulda started big Frost. He made up for that blunder by throwing the brick to give Gaitan the lung break. Good on Block for jumping lvl n revitalizing his career he was looking like a big bust.
Elam is with SKCW how did we not land him in the portal… damn.. i have him winning the title and taking out Barr.

Seems to be bigger and handling the weight cut a little better. Dean has always wrestled to his competition and that hasn't changed as of yet.I guess you missed when Dean was pinned in 1st period last week and needed SV to beat the 75th ranked Pitt Panther...He looked good yesterday but I think we'll need some time to see if he really gets "better" in Iowa room...jmo
Dean can finish anywhere from NC to R16 depending on bracket draws and which Dean shows up. He’s really had some big time wins over some elites… Lilledahl , Ramos, Spratley.. etc.Seems to be bigger and handling the weight cut a little better. I saw it, and Bouzakis is going to be a problem this year if he can hold 125. Ur right, can’t say “better” in room.. some wrestlers seem to lock in more their senior year. Imagine if Ash transferred to Iowa his sr year and did what he did.. everyone woulda just credit it to the room change.I guess you missed when Dean was pinned in 1st period last week and needed SV to beat the 75th ranked Pitt Panther...He looked good yesterday but I think we'll need some time to see if he really gets "better" in Iowa room...jmo
This ^^. Dean is a really good wrestler who can beat anyone and can have some head scratchers. Always seems to be a little light on the offense which makes some matches closer then they should be but has talent to beat anyone. Time will tell if Iowa is his magic Elixir.Dean can finish anywhere from NC to R16 depending on bracket draws and which Dean shows up. I do think 125 is up for grabs and a lot will depend on bracket draws.. some of them match up well against another for some odd reason. For example, Robinson always seems to lose to Ventresca.
One of the best duals I’ve seen in years. Glad Iowa lost. For a school with seemingly unlimited recruiting resources and known as Wrestletown USA how the heck do they need two Little Rock transfers and a Wartburg D3 grad student in the line-up?!Highly entertaining dual.
Didn't recruit well and had holes . People complain about Goody but don't understand the wrestling landscape outside of NJ. I think the issue is that for every kid who dreams of wrestling for the Brands Bros there is another kid that thinks they are psychopaths. On the other hand, David Taylor is prob one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet and an amazing coach. I’d put Tom Ryan in that category too. Iowa is not for everyone that’s for sure.Didn't recruit well and had holes . People complain about Goody but don't understand the wrestling landscape outside of NJ. You know what you get with the brands brothers. I'd take the Brands brothers over Tom Ryan all day, everyday. Outside of the Ohio St. loyalist, I've never heard anyone say a good thing about Tom Ryan. Some refer to him a sneaky and conniving, others say he puts on the "loyal to his wrestlers, coach show" but in fact ypu are a number. To that point, I've heard former wrestlers say that about Goody.I really don't know too much about David Taylor as a person and coach. I've seen clips of him with his athletes and staff, and he seems to be a solid dude.Who knows what goes on when the camera are off.He must be doing something right, as OK St. Is paying him over a million dollars and all the athletes seem to gravitate to him.It will be interesting see if he upend his former coach, Cael Sanderson. I would love to see that as I can't stand the Penn State fans, that whole weirdo campus vide, and fruitcake lion roar they play after one of their impersonable mutants wins a match.I think the issue is that for every kid who dreams of wrestling for the Brands Bros there is another kid that thinks they are psychopaths.
