Nice try. LOL! 90s for both. You are struggling here on the 2000s and 2010s. again, its because you likely didn't care to pay attention. 2000's - the rise of hip hop as pop, big baggy jeans, the fast and the furious, remember the titans, south park, etc.
I was thereIf you sat upstairs at Giants Stadium for “Monsters of Rock” that’s what you saw looking at the field.
yes, the machine has moved on, we're in the era of nicki minaj, cardi b, and megan the stallion. pick-a-breathy-sounding-"edgy" female singer. retro-ish sounding, high pitched male-led bands.honestly it was really forgettable...much better than now I will give you that but rapper du jour with female singe du jour got played out old.see Ja Rule/Ashanti...see I was paying attention
LOL! You still don't get it. Keep thinking and reread past posts.you need to try harder.

But, but, but Taylor is so talented! Forget about her auto-tune earpiece. LOL.
It wasn't just the song, but also the epic setting and the historic timing of it.Ya.....I've been to multiple Metallica concerts.
100% I'd rather go to a Taylor Swift concert than these "Yacht Rock" bands.
But you do you.
Can't really see mocking pop in a thread dedicated to "soft rock".
Also...I definitely wouldn't have picked Enter Sandman for when music was powerful or no apologies.
Maybe "Fuel", "4 Horseman" or "Ride The Lightning".
Nothing quite like a good electric chair song.

South Park
Wrong. South Park first showed up in 1995 with Jesus vs Santa.

The Scott tenorman episode, medicinal Marijuana episode, world of Warcraft episode, scientology episode all did not happen until the 00's. Those are all iconic. And the SP movie was 99, which was the peak. He is very confused with his decades! LOL.
Started in the 90s, movie in the 90s, peaked in the 90s. But once again, you continue to miss the point. The unique character and feel of a decade isn't about listing the most popular shows, songs, or movies. It's about the uniqueness of being able to instantly place sometime to a decade even if you are seeing/hearing it for the first time. Other decades have this quality. The 2000s and 2010s do not.The Scott tenorman episode, medicinal Marijuana episode, world of Warcraft episode, scientology episode all did not happen until the 00's. Those are all iconic.
and you're still wrong. its very easy to place a song from the 00s...but because you choose to be ignorant of it, you choose not to recognize it. the growth of dirty south in hip hop, backpacker rap, the pop punk scene, a lot of nu-metal, the fusion of EDM and what was considered traditional pop and r&b...that's the 00s. just because one genre of music wasn't dominant doesn't mean that there aren't iconic sounds within the growing universe of music available in the decade. the 10s brought mumble rap, trap, mainstreaming of EDM, that breathy billie eilish/lorde/halsey subgenre. those are unique sounds. whether you like them or not, that's a different story.Started in the 90s, movie in the 90s, peaked in the 90s. You're arguing with people who consistently show no ability to think critically. The entire premise of this thread - that Yacht Rock is somehow "manly" - is ludicrous. There's some fine YR music and a lot of drek too (same for any genre, really, although I do find the drek quotient pretty high for YR) and you've done a fine job of showing that the last 20 years have had plenty of cultural/musical icons and touchstones, but they'll simply never see them, because they aren't looking.and you're still wrong. its very easy to place a song from the 00s...but because you choose to be ignorant of it, you choose not to recognize it. the growth of dirty south in hip hop, backpacker rap, the pop punk scene, a lot of nu-metal, the fusion of EDM and what was considered traditional pop and r&b...that's the 00s. just because one genre of music wasn't dominant doesn't mean that there aren't iconic sounds within the growing universe of music available in the decade. the 10s brought mumble rap, trap, mainstreaming of EDM, that breathy billie eilish/lorde/halsey subgenre. those are unique sounds. whether you like them or not, that's a different story.
LOL! Wow, you just belched a ton of secondary/minor items that most will never know or recognize. Thanks for proving my point so incredibly well.and you're still wrong. its very easy to place a song from the 00s...but because you choose to be ignorant of it, you choose not to recognize it. the growth of dirty south in hip hop, backpacker rap, the pop punk scene, a lot of nu-metal, the fusion of EDM and what was considered traditional pop and r&b...that's the 00s. just because one genre of music wasn't dominant doesn't mean that there aren't iconic sounds within the growing universe of music available in the decade. the 10s brought mumble rap, trap, mainstreaming of EDM, that breathy billie eilish/lorde/halsey subgenre. those are unique sounds. whether you like them or not, that's a different story.

Michael McDonald......when music was "powerful and unapologetic"......
Soft Rock...err...Yacht Rock is terrible.
I like that some are trying to put Metallica and Iron Maiden in the "Yacht Rock" thread.
Real amusing.
The longest I've ever listened to Michael McDonald is in the background of these scene.
I'm in the same boat as this guy.Had to look up the definition of Yacht Rock, never heard the term before. Only went thru the first page of the thread but didn’t see anyting there that I would ever dream of listening to. Yuck.
would that boat be a yacht?I'm in the same boat as this guy.
Ironically, I never heard the term Yacht Rock in my life (grew-up in the 80s). However, since this was a thread making fun of Taylor Swift and old men that like her, I eagerly joined in.Had to look up the definition of Yacht Rock, never heard the term before.
